I enjoy books stores. This one has only or mostly rare first edition books for collectors or whoever seeks those relics. Not my thing but obviously appeals to others because it is still in business. Worth seeing.

A real surprise with good food, coffee, local art, and used books. Close to The Switzerland Inn it is zest to visit and definitely worth stopping.

Had coffee and pastries here last week during our visit to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway. The place sells a wide variety of coffee (black, cappuccino, etc) and pastries (muffins, tarts, cakes) which we enjoyed for our breakfast.

My wife and I stayed in Little Switzerland for a couple of days. After driving and visiting local attractions we were in need of a coffee. Books & Beans was a great place to kick back with a great caffe latte, visit with other travelers in a completely relaxed place. Yes there are a ton of books. When we go... More

They have outstanding coffee, pastries and other refreshments as well as several thousand books, some of which you probably haven't read. There are also some inexpensive and high-end local arts and crafts suitable for any dwelling modest or extravagant. There are many one-of-a-kind items there , knick-knacks, bags, funny gifts. The complex also has other shops such as a quilt... More

Great coffee and homemade pastries from Spruce Pine. Unique books, gifts and crafts in their upstairs shop. Super Friendly owners/employees strike up nice and genuine conversation. I'm glad we stopped here for coffee.

The high elevation on this particular visit found us shrouded in thick clouds all the way up the mountain, but the stop at this unique store was so worth it. Books, books everywhere and they are arranged in a most pleasant "old fashioned" way is the best way to put it. The coffee is good and desserts are yummy. Don't... More

First of all, it isn't really any kind of a bookstore. Old dusty used books reside in back. In front they are selling food and coffee. The desserts are stale and I asked the lady if they were homemade but it's easy to see they were not. There are signs everywhere about "no dogs", "Bathrooms for customers only", "you break... More

We use fresh beans from Beanwerks in Asheville, NC, but it's our spring water and beautiful antique espresso machine that make all the difference. Come by during your travels, peruse the 30,000+ books, antiques, local arts and crafts, and of course sip on your favorite coffee drink! NOW serving smoothies and frappes as well. Indoor seating by the antique fireplace, or outside seating on our covered front porch. Located next to the Switzerland Cafe, home of killer sandwiches, barbeque, salads, and soups.
