We recently ate at the Bistro on a Monday afternoon and really enjoyed the experience. The place was not very crowded which I think helped based on some of the other reviews. I had the meatloaf (made with sausage) on top of turnip greens and mashed potatoes. It was very good. My wife raved about the shrimp and grits and... More

Although have visited several times, decided it's time to write a review for The Bistro at Childress Vineyards. Nothing but thumbs up for the ambiance and attentive service that I've always received at this bistro. I took my 86 year-old mom to the Bistro Nov. 19 for Saturday lunch. (We made online reservations a week in advance guessing Saturdays prior to... More

We went to the vineyard for a short tour since we were in the area. The restaurant looked pleasant so we decided to eat lunch there. Our choices were the chicken pot pie and a turkey and brie sandwich and both were quite good. Our service was good and the views from the restaurant was enjoyable.

Love going here when friends are visiting or just me and my husband for a nice afternoon lunch. Very friendly and efficient staff and we love the food. And wine of course.

Went there on a Sunday for brunch. They had the regular menu. The food was good. The triple treat which is 3 courses with 3 different wines was $25 which was quite good. The other meals were also very good. There was more than enough everyone was unable to finish their meals. We were able to spend 2 plus hours... More

Five couples traveled five hours last week for our yearly golf outing. We don't normally travel that far, but we chose to go to Mount Airy based on one couples rave review of the Childress Winery and Restaurant. It was a beautiful Fall day and we took the day off from golf to travel another hour to the Childress Winery.... More

We always enjoy our meals here. Definitely get the sweet potato fries and the cornbread! The prices are a little high, but the food is well worth it. I think I heard that they have a new chef, but food quality was still the same or better!

My husband and I invited friends to spend the day with us at the winery. The winery and grounds are just beautiful. The staff were genuinely warm and friendly. The food, was totally amazing! By far, the best shrimp & grits ever! My husband had the crab cake sandwich which was super yummy, but you owe it to yourself to... More

They claimed there was a problem with their computer system (the dog ate my homework) but why it took one hour and fifteen minutes to serve two sandwiches and a salad is more likely staffing and kitchen problems. And the food was unforgiveably ordinary too. Winery restaurants need to be much better than this. Come on North Carolina vitners.
