Was ok

Carry out due to covid. Chicken fingers and chips. Chips were soggy due to carry out in aluminum pan. Maybe try packing the chips separate would help? Chips and fries have old bay seasoning on if you have a picky eater. Ordered dessert and got...none so my husband had to go back in and get. Key Lime pie had green gel and something that looked like a caramel sauce on it 🤷🏼‍♀️ I would try something else the next time.More

Friendly, nice service, good prices, good food and drink

we stopped by this afternoon for drinks and snacks. They had measures in place to help protect staff and patrons. Service was friendly, quick, and efficient. We ordered wine and a Millionaire Margarita and were pleased with both. I had a cup of the seafood...chowder and really enjoyed it. We started out in the bar but it was crowded and we decided to move to the outside patio. Staff helped us and were veryfriendly. We will go back Prices are very reasonabl.More

Nice lunch

Five of us dropped in for lunch yesterday (9 October 2020). At the hostess station, we were required to have our hands sprayed with hand sanitizer. I liked that! (I do carry my own in my purse). We asked to sit inside, as it was...pretty windy. We sat in the back room and were all alone for a while. Another group came in and were seated at the far end of the room. My friend and I shared a pound of steamed shrimp. The others ordered the grouper wrap; plus one order of the Cheshire pork belly appetizers, in which we all shared. Everything was very good, including the service. Oh, it was one of my friend's birthday, so the waitress brought out a chocolate cake. How nice!! It feels great to be eating out again during these Covid times; as long as we continue to select restaurants that follow safe practices.More

We stopped here for lunch. It is a beachy, funky place with good food and good service. The salmon club sandwich is delicious! The seafood chowder is well done, too.

This place never disappoints!

This place never disappoints! The food is always delicious and the service is great! My steak last night was cooked perfectly and was so delicious! I always visit multiple times when I’m in Kure Beach!

Excellent and safe lunch at Jack Mackerels!

Appreciated all of the extra measures taken to provide a safe and enjoyable lunch. Food was fresh and service was prompt and friendly.

Would not come back!

Ordered Ribeye and sirloin neither were good nor cooked right! First was over cooked second was under cooked. Ordered fish of the day(Wahoo) way over cooked. The beer was good service was good!

Our Kure Beach "go to spot" for fried fish and seafood

Ahh to be back in Kure Beach after a few years and to find Jack Mackeral's still open...it doesn't get much better! It is a little pricey, but we only get here every few years on a visit to family. We love the location which...is just a block from the beach and always walk out on the Kure Beach fishing pier either before or after we eat. We have been here for both lunch and supper. My son and I both chose the lunch special which was a fried Grouper basket. We ate it all and loved it. My wife had a fried scallop and shrimp combo and was very pleased, my brother-in-law also chose a combo and ate all his fried scallops and oysters and my sister-in-law had the shrimp scampi which she says is her "norm". She declared it the best she has had. All in law it was a nice lunch.More

Slow service, overpriced food.

We tried to take into consideration that Covid has placed extra burdens on everyone, especially restaurants. However, compared to every other place we visited on our week-long trip, this one just didn't measure up. Slow service. Decent food, but not worth the prices. I'm never...a fan for up-charges on meal modifications so that didn't help. I can't say we'll never go again, but it's not a place we're eager to revisit.More

Wonderful stuffed shrimp!

We had the beef and reef special and enjoyed our meal. The shrimp stuffed with crab was delicious. Steak was good. Mixed veg were ok. Potato tasted old. Service was pretty poor. Seemed to be doing well with distancing but waitress was distracted and slow.
