Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Two cruises in Pointe-du-Chene, NB are identified by TripAdvisor: Shediac Bay Cruises [Lobster Tales] and Croisieres Shediac Bay Cruises. Perhaps the second one is a lobster educational cruise. In June 2022, our 36-member Grand Circle Travel group boarded, not knowing what to expect. I enjoyed...[and made a mess of☺] a lobster lunch, but feasted on the education of lobster harvesting, trap construction to allow undersized crustaceans to escape, and how the traps are designed with doors that disintegrate after a few days, if the mooring lines become detached. I found most interesting the camaraderie of lobster harvesters, similar to “barn raising” events of my youth in rural North Carolina—neighbors helping neighbors. Those who prefer 9-to-5 office hours need not consider this employment venue. Seasonal hours are grueling. In off season, there is trap repairs and boat maintenance. The education of lobster harvesting—and how to extract lunch from the exoskeleton—is presented with humor. I added a “groaner” after lunch. I said, Eating lobster intestines doesn’t bother me, it’s what hasn’t left the guts that causes concern☺More

What a perfect afternoon, for couples of families. We learned to eat the WHOLE lobster, and had so much fun. The whole meal was delicious, capped off with hanging out above deck.

Take this cruise with Captain Ron and you'll learn all about how lobsters live and grow and how they are caught. In addition, you will learn how to properly "disassemble" a lobster with the minimum of effort. And, finally, you will have the opportunity to...eat a lobster, as well. All the time Captain Ron is both educating you and entertaining you. Watch out, though, because he has tricks up his sleeve, particularly his "chicken of the sea" catch.More

We had a group of 5 people with a Tauck Tour on the Canadian Maritimes trip and this lobster boat cruise was part of the trip. This was a very educational experience with a wonderful crew. The caption was clever, entertaining and quite knowledgeable about...lobstering and helped us learn much about the lobster business, how to cook and eat them properly. I highly recommend this cruise.More

I would recommend this cruise unhesitatingly to anyone who would love an entertaining, thoughtful evening on a converted lobster boat, with a captain who has extensive knowledge and a great crowd pleasing ability. Captain Ron and his young crew put on a dinner aboard that...was totally satisfying. And included is lobster lore that leaves one both entertained and informed. The sunset viewed from the upper outside deck was a bonus extra. Worth the money!More
