You know when the ice water is in a large Mason Bell jar you have found authentic restaurant. Three of us had chicken & dumplings with pinots and slaw, meat loaf with greens and baked apples, and chicken tenders with curly fries and baked apples. Shared cornbread and roll. Two 70+ grandparents and teenage granddaughter so guess who had the... More

After a multiday hike, we stopped in for breakfast. However it was nearly noon and breakfast was no longer being served- so the waitress asked the cook and they offered to make breakfast for us. We were elated! Eggs and pancakes hit the spot

We stayed in a cabin in Hot Springs and ate here twice. You will find locals, hikers and folks visiting the quaint little town. The hikers are coming through the first town on the Appalachian trail during this time of year (those trying to complete the hike from Georgia to Maine) The food is good and inexpensive. The homemade cinnamon... More

Very good FRESH food. Dinner needs a bit of maintenance, tables wobble and so on. Ya gotta try the fat boy.

Wish I could've known what thet do well. I was trying to get a few vegetables and it's just not their specialty. I learned later that breakfast must be their specialty. The Southwestern dish, chili & cheesy fries also looked extremely good. Regardless of not getting what I had hoped for, I did appreciate their sweet tea and the polite,... More

Hubby and I had breakfast before our day hike. Portions are very large. Hubs had country ham biscuit with hash browns. The biscuit was the size of a McDonald's hamburger. Hash browns cover an entire half of the plate. I had a bacon cheese omelet hash browns and a biscuit. It was all delicious and I couldn't eat but half.... More

I had the sausage & cheese omelet, my friend had the breakfast skillet. It's obvious the diner is on the AT, both our orders were huge. Perfect for hikers. The sweet tea was sweet, the coffee was hot and fresh. A perfect hikers breakfast!

This is a great restaurant for hikers with our big appetites! The portion sizes were very good and the service was good as well. They even had vegetarian options. It is nothing fancy, but I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food!

My daughter and I visit Smoky Mountain Diner at least once a month, more in the summer. Always a great meal. Anything from biscuits and gravy to their huge cheeseburgers. You can't go wrong eating here. Great southern food!!
