Solid baked treats, exceptional service. The treats are beautifully prepared, and the cupcakes I tasted, Cookies and Cream and the Red Velvet, were good.

The Mad Hatter Bake Shop had so many yummy treats to choose from. They also had a good selection of sandwiches for both breakfast and lunch. I had a cream cheese brownie that was delicious. Other customers were talking about their delicious breads. I look forward to visiting again on my next visit to Durham

it is not just a bakery, but the bakery is the best reason to go here. The dining area is crowded and there is always a wait. and parking is crazy. The food is good, but the reason to go is the bakery. Their cakes are out of this world wonderful. And also expensive. But the splurge is definitely worthwhile.

Easy parking which is a benefit! Hubby ordered Blueberry French Toast (ah-mazing!) and I ordered "The Biscuit" (perfect!). We shared a fresh-squeezed orange juice (a real treat!) and enjoyed the coffee! Great place!

The pastries looked amazing almost mouth watering but a major disappointment in every way. We had hot chocolate to drink but it was far from hot, it was luke warm and nothing overly impressive. He had a cupcake that was flavorless and dry while I had ordered the cafe au late, again not much of any flavor. Overall a great... More

The Mad Hatter is a no frills breakfast restaurant and bake shop near Duke University. You order at the counter and take a seat in the no frills dining room, and get your own silverware and napkins. Your order is brought to your table. The food is fine, and the prices are average for this kind of dining experience. Lots... More

I have had cookies and slices of cakes from The Mad Hatter's on several occasions, but had not sat down for breakfast here until a couple weeks ago. I had an early meeting, after which I stopped in for a late breakfast and a cup of coffee. I ordered the Huevos rancheros and sat down with my coffee near a... More

Food was good, but just good. Two of us had eggs and potatoes wth sausage / bacon. The meat was extra. The eggs were cooked as ordered (over easy) but were not seasoned. The potatoes likewise were unseasoned. My wife had eggs benedict and enjoyed that. Coffee, etc was at Stabucks prices. The pastries looked awesome, we should have had... More
