We had lunch today at this lovely Italian sandwich, soup, and salad restaurant in Downtown Durham. We ordered 5 or 6 items, and All were Excellent. We might go back again, tomorrow.

This place has the best soups - hot or cold - in Durham, I especially recommend the lentil soup and the chilled cucumber soup! They use a special oil when making the hot sandwiches which I think makes them delicious. I love the crostini's for when you don't want to eat too much and want to try a variety of... More

Met my hubby here for lunch and really enjoyed it, There were plenty of people there but the service was still fast. I ordered the "choose of 3 crostinis (total of 6) with a salad". It was delicious. I didn't leave stuffed as the crostinis are small and a salad was just greens with shaved parm but it was tasty... More

I found Toast while driving through Durham for the first time and will definitely return when I come through the city again. The menu includes lots of creative, upscale sandwich combinations along with some tasty-looking daily specials. We liked that the cooler had lots of interesting craft sodas available. I chose a 3-piece sampler of various bruscettas, which were delicious... More

Went here for lunch and was not disappointed. They have a great variety of panninis, crostinis, soups and salads. All of us got different items and were very pleased with everything we ordered. They do offer Udis gluten free bread, but I'm pretty certain that they do not use a separate press for the gluten free paninis (I did not... More

We love this little place. Great products, great combinations of flavors, everything seems to simple, and yet it's the very simplicity that makes the quality stand out. Paninis, sandwiches, soups, a delicious light salad, crostini...nothing is fancy, it's all casual, and yet we often feel we've eaten better there than at some of the fine dining places in town. And... More

My family and I went to Toast Saturday for lunch. I have a gluten allergy so I always ask the establishments we eat at about the food before I order. I asked about their vegetable minestrone soup, if it was strictly vegetable with no noodles because I have had vegetable minestrone at other restaurants that were only vegetables. The other option... Cool place. I had a panini and a side minestrone soup. My husband had the soup and Crustinis. Everything was fresh. The sandwiches were very simple but had a lot of quality. After noon, the place got pretty busy. The order does not include a side, which I like with a sandwich.

Soup/sandwiches (panini, tramezzini) always very good. We live in Durham, and this is our go-to lunch place when we're downtown. You order at the counter, and there can be a line, especially on weekends, so go early if you can.

I stopped in here yesterday for a quick sandwich and was really impressed. The menu was really interesting and it was hard deciding what to try. The staff was friendly and helpful. We tried the chicken salad sandwich and a pancetta, arugula and roasted tomato sandwich. Both were delicious! I look forward to going there again next time I am... More
