I've been a long time customer that hadn't visited in awhile. It remains as good as ever. The best soup in town matched by an array of wonderful and unique Italian sandwiches. I've never had a bad meal here and the price is awesome when considering the quality.

Oh man was the beet soup awesome. So good in fact we ate lunch and dinner there the same day. The crostini's are also good try the tomato, mozzarella and basil or the garlic mushroom. The spicy tuna sandwich is also very good. Really, I couldn't complain about anything we ate. The atmosphere is eclectic, good location easy to walk... More

Went to Toast for lunch. I had the onion soup and side salad. I LOVED the soup. Onion soup with a tomato broth, croutons and provolone cheese. Delicious. I had a second bowl. Salad was fresh and the dressing was just enough to coat the greens. Not like some restaurants that the greens swim in the dressing.

We stopped in here for a quick lunch (we were toting a baby) and were pleasantly suprised. I had the pannini with four cheeses - it was toasted perfectly, full of flavor! My husband had the tuna and he really liked it too. As others have mentioned, the space is long and narrow and the tables are relatively small, just... More

Toast is a sandwich concept restaurant at five points in a revived section of downtown Durham. They serve several types of Italian sandwiches, panini, tramezzini, bruschetta , and crostini. The ingredients are fresh from the farm and they use imported Italian cheeses. They also offer home made soups and desserts. We had the pan proscuitto, mozzarella and toasted tomato panini... More

I don't get why this place has glowing reviews. My husband and I came here for lunch and both ordered paninis. I got the kale, pickled pepper, and cheese panini. True to their name, this cafe uses toast instead of bread for their paninis. The toast was so dry and crunchy and lacked any flavor. The pickled peppers overwhelmed the... More

I stopped in Toast for the first time. For my lunch, I bought the $10.00 special with my choice of three crostini (two pieces each) and soup. I selected the butternut squash soup of the day, along with two crostini of the day (duck confit with Brussels sprouts and fontina; homemade lemon ricotta with balsamic roasted squash) and a crostini... When we bike downtown, we often stop for a great sandwich. Everything we get there is great. The soups, the salads the crusinies. And the salad dressing is AWESOME. An Italian, but so light and good. Great place.

Excellent panini's and salad. Fills you up and doesn't leave you feeling like you over ate. It was perfect.
