I enjoyed all the meals I had but my boyfriend found the menu to be very limited for both the breakfast and dinner choices. (We didn't go for lunch)

You really should stop in here. It's part of the Sanderling Resort and has spectacular views of the sound in a really beautiful setting. We just had lunch there (and the kids had breakfast twice). This was clearly a kitchen that took pride in its product. The salads were clean, crisp, and well constructed, corn clam soup was excellent. We... More

We recently celebrated my dad's 95th birthday in the OBX and had two incredible meals at this gem of a restaurant. The service was consistently attentive, friendly and professional and everyone went out of their way to make sure both meals were memorable and delicious. Views are gorgeous at sunset and the food was the best we had in the... More

Part of Sanderling Resort. The view of the bay is great. Great wine selection. The staff is friendly and remembers you. Breakfast is very good as well. You won't be disappointed.

We ate breakfast at the Lifesaving Station during a winter visit to the OuterBanks when we stayed at the Sanderling. It had eggs, omelets, meats, pancakes, waffles, fruit, cereal, a good number of choices for breakfast. You won't go hungry here. The staff was attentive and friendly. It's also one of the few restaurants open in Duck in the wintertime.... More

We had breakfast here and were very disappointed. The wait staff were slow and unresponsive. They were out of two of the items we wanted, smoked salmon and bagels! With all the health conscience people today these are staples. I ordered a cappuccino which I never got . Finally asked for coffee with heavy cream. I was brought old coffee... More

The food was delicious and the staff made us feel like a million bucks. We had the duck, filet, crab chowder soup, and scallops. They were all very good. The cocktails were strong but delicious which is a good thing cause you are getting what you pay for. Not a glass of water/juice. Plus, we stayed at the resort so... More

We had a fabulous anniversary. Dinner that was delicious. Everything was just perfect. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to have breakfast the next morning. It was equally as delightful. The service was exceptional both meals. We would definitely return.

Stopped in on a whim and enjoyed a nice lunch during the off season. Very good crab and corn chowder. Huge helping of steamed mussels in a nice broth. Fried chicken cobb was huge, and the chicken was crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. Crab cakes had just a little too much filler. Head chef Brian even... More

Since it was off-season, many of the restaurants were closed, but they had one restaurant opened - its called the Life Saving Station (during on-season, its Kimballs). We had breakfast there one morning and I had the eggs Benedict ($15). Service was friendly, but slow. I saw many meals sitting at the pass waiting under heat lamps for a long... More

Description
Located in the original—and splendidly restored—Caffey’s Inlet Life Saving Station No. 5, the Lifesaving Station is a casual, three-meal-a-day restaurant celebrating southern coastal cuisine and regional, organic products. New with the renovations is a spacious outside seating deck and large fireplace. Known for its “best breakfast on the Outer Banks” and a-la-carte Sunday brunch, the Lifesaving Station is a favorite Duck, N.C. restaurant choice for both locals and vacationers. And be sure the try the Lifesaving Station’s famous Carolina BBQ Sampler and Spring Mountain Farms Buttermilk Fried Chicken, always on the menu. The Lifesaving Station maintains an impressive wine list. Local breweries are featured while specialty cocktails feature coastal “house cocktails” and bourbons. Upstairs, the renovated No. 5 offers sweeping views of the Currituck Sound. The relaxed atmosphere is conducive to catching the game and enjoying quality cuisine.
