We try to eat here every time we are in Chimney Rock. The food has always been good and the service friendly. The last two times we have visited (out of 'season'), their outdoor eating deck was not open. One of the reasons to eat there is their nice, little deck on the river. Also, our most recent visit was... More

Genny's was a nice family family restaurant that even had an outside eating area that was on the water. The food was excellent and they gave you good portions. The waitress was very friendly.

Have been visiting Genny's for at least 15 years and it seems like you get charged for every little thing these days. Service was very slow and in the end breakfast for two was thirty something dollars, way too much I think.

I was hungry and had to wait about 30 mins to be seated and another 30 for food. But it was worth it. They have a sign that tells you if they are busy it may take 45 mins to get a seat. Honesty is good. The breakfast is really good and the owner carries a 9 mm on his... More

Stopped for breakfast on the way to Asheville. Had the Genny's #1 and my hubby had the biscuit and gravy. He is very picky when it come to biscuits and gravy and he raved about these.

Rubbery eggs, grits n toast. Biscuits & gravy unremarkable. No real butter, no honey for the biscuits but they sell honey at the register? Waitress worked hard to serve everyone. Mine is a single snapshot experience on a busy Saturday morning.

Staff was friendly. The waitress could have been a little more attentive. The fried foods had a peculiar flavor. My 4 yeat old granddaughter gagged on the french fries. My 15 year old niece had the $15 shrimp platter and everything was garlicky and oily. We were hungery and desperate for somewhere to eat. A little high for a tight... More

My husband stopped in for a bite after spending some time in Chimney Rock Village. They advertise home cooking but it was not home cooking at all. Half of my food was cool, not cold but not hot. The outside seating really needs some adjustments. The tables were not cleaned and the restrooms need some repairs. Unfortunately, would not return

My wife and I stopped in here to eat after spending the day at chimney rock State Park. We sat outside by the stream and enjoyed a very good meal. The food was served quickly and the staff were very friendly. I would not hesitate to come back again. Also, I loved sitting beside the stream. It was very relaxing.

Afternoon led us here for a late lunch. We ate outside on the deck, and although the new railing blocks the river view a bit, I understand why it had to be added. Had fried flounder, hamburger steak and hot dogs. All were very good. Home cooked food. Service was a bit slow, but there was the hiring sign and... More
