If you are looking for an Applebee's like restaurant, this is it. I had the filet mignon and scallops. The filet was a little overcooked and the scallops were like rubber. Others at the table were ok with their food except the one steak was also overcooked a bit.

We went for a simple dinner and drinks. The burgers were cooked to order (med-rare) and very tasty. We sat at the bar and found the bartenders quite friendly as well as the other patrons. We were there for the Preakness race - there was a lot of camaraderie and energy at the bar during and after the race. We... More

Had a quick lunch here between meetings. It was a little after 2PM so I was pretty much the only one there. Sat at the bar and was served by the bartender who was very nice. I had crab cakes and a salad. The crab cakes were interesting because they had noodles in there as a binder. Wasn't expecting that,... More

Great food, reasonable price, I was happy with the service and friendly staff. It was my first time dining at this spot, but I certainly plan to make another visit, when I am in town.

Food tasted good but was cool when it came out of the kitchen. It was not a busy night and this really should not have happened. The dining area was somewhat loud and the piano player and singer really did nothing to enhance the experience.

The food was okay. We ate the spicy chicken egg rolls and that was the highlight of the entire meal. Most of what we ordered was bland. On a positive-our waitress was really nice.

April 17, 2012 joined three friends on a day trip to Tryon, NC. The small town is charming. We had a lovely lunch at A Bakery Cafe. The Cafe uses fresh, local ingredients and runs a fabulous bakery. My special quiche was delicious. My three friends who are local all had the turkey sandwich with cheese on cranberry bread which... More

City Tavern has been a long time favorite for me in Charlotte. I was sad to see the one on East Blvd close and nothing has successfully replaced it long term in that location. The food is high quality and well-prepared without a lot of over-fussiness. Food portions are gracious. My favorite dish is the meatloaf but I've never been... More
