Saw the word Rooster and thought chain quality food(high end KFC). But it is an ambiance restaurant with nice decor and good looking bar. Menu is clever. The iceberg wedge is smaller than you normally see, which is preferable because wedges dominate the meal at...most restaurants. It saved room for the calamari, which had excellent marinara sauce and a nice sriracha aioli. It is very bready.More

Restaurant opened after 15 month Covid closure. Food was served hot. Chicken dish was excellent. Mac and Cheese was a big serving but caused domestic problems. Could not keep my wife out of MY Mac and Cheese. !!

Stopped in before flying back home on vacation and what a wonderful treat! Food, staff, atmosphere was all perfect! I have already told so many of my friends about this restaurant when flying into Charlotte while traveling, I could not have been more impressed (My...hubby even said so many great things about this as well)/. Thank you for such a wonderful ending to such and amazing vacation in North Carolina!More

My order wasn’t in the menu but they did it anyway. I ordered hash browns, slice of ham, eggs and toast. It was delicious! My daughter’s caesar salad dressing was mediocre but generous portion. They have huge cinnamon rolls for &13.95 each . I asked...to give me a little sample before I buy it but they denied my request so I can’t tell how it tasted. They also give you a free small one on your birthday. My birthday was a few day ago, so I didn’t get one. The place is decorated with old movie pictures, car plates, etc diner style.More

After a personal recommendation from a local friend and reading reviews on TA, we decided to go here during this Covid thing. They had outside seating, which is a priority for us during this pandemic. We sat in a corner spot under the awning during...a downpour and were dry and fine. The waiter was quite nice and attentive, as well as the manager who was constantly walking around. All staff had masks, though my wife saw inside and she saw groups of people seated next to each other instead of spacing every other table (though I am sure you could ask for a different seat). I had the halibut, which was $30 for a very small and thin 5 oz. It was very good with a light tomato gastreak, and no sides. We also ordered Mac & Cheese, which you really MUST have. I would put this up there with my top 4 ever (Poole’s Diner is my favorite). The Carolina Gold butter rice dish was delicious. The succotash was fresh and delicious. The table came with rye bread and olive oil, both of which were really good separately, but bitter when combined. The rye was homemade, but the pungent-ness of the rye did not mix well at all with the oil. My suggestion is to order the rye with butter. We also had a really nice moderately priced French white wine. Overall, a very nice place!More

Don’t let the name fool you. This place is definitely not country. My daughter and I had the scallops, a bit gritty but otherwise delicious. My son had the pork-excellent! My granddaughter (age 10) had the roasted chicken chicken pizza. She ate all but the...last two slices. Amazing. My husband had charcuterie, duck confit and salad. He shared only a couple of small bites. Good service, good food, great food. A terrific evening. A little louder than we prefer but really great food.More

After a difficult time navigating the streets of Charlotte due to construction of a new transport system, finding garage space and trapping in snow and ice, discovered the restaurant is closed for renovations!

I've been to Rooster a couple times in the past 6 months. One was for a business function with a group of about 25 where they literally paraded us through the kitchen to get us into a back dining area. Then again last week. Each...time, the food was good but I do think the prices, particularly for the side items, are excessive. I personally spent $20 just to get a side of corn (great) and mashed potatoes. These are intended to be table share items but depending on what you get, that is not the case. The fries are definitely table share. My wife got au gratin potatoes and there were definitely enough for at least 2. Service was good. Parking is easy. But, it's just too hard to overlook the prices so we likely won't be back.More

We found this restaurant online while traveling through Charlotte and what a find it was. It has high end decor with a bon vivant gastro pub feel. The menu was varied - with dishes cheap enough to not break the bank ($14 pizzas) and other...dishes in the $20-$30 range if you owned a bank. The BBQ chicken was moist and not over cooked. The wings were delectable with a dash of delicious seasoning. The onion rings were fantastic- not too much breading and just the right amount of salt and pepper. The pizzas were made to order in a wood fired stove and were delicious. Wait staff were attentive bringing refills of water and bread with olive oil as needed. Our family loved this place. My only regret is that we won’t be back soon enough to try the all the appetizers like roasted beets, duck liver and calamari. When in Charlotte, NC you won’t be disappointed at Roosters.More
