I ordered a chopped salad and my daughter ordered the pasta bolognese. The chicken in the salad was so salty that it was inedible. It must have been soaked in some kind of salt bath. The bolognese sauce was also so salty that my hungry...kid couldn't eat more than a few bites. Honestly, I hate writing bad reviews. There's nothing I like more than to find a treasure and give a business a shoutout with a great review. But hate even more when a $60 birthday dinner goes uneaten and the waiter didn't even acknowledge our complaint when he saw two plates of food that were not eaten. He brought the bill without even so much as an "I'm sorry about that." I think this restaurant is the nail in the coffin as far as eating out for a while. When a person can't even get the taste of salt from their mouth after guzzling the ice tea, you know it's not me, it's you. We did eat the calamari, which wasn't bad, but there was nothing so special about it to offset the horrible entrees. Bad food and apathetic service. Not worth the $$.More

When we first moved from NY to Cary NC this was one of the first Italian very good restaurants that we visited on a regular basis. It has been 11 years since our move south and we've seen a lot of new restaurants spring up...in this neck of the woods. Many are very good and a few Italian ones are even closer to my home. We hadn't been to Luganos for a while, in part due to the never ending Covid saga and Luganos is a little longer ride. However, we visited just the other night. It was a Saturday and the place was quite busy...always a good sign. I was happy to see all the activity. Our dinners were excellent. I had the Shrimp Oreganata with Angel Hair and my wife had one of the pasta dishes that was also excellent. The ambiance of Luganos is more upscale than many of the neighborhood Italian restaurants in the area which makes it more of a true dining experience. They also have a great menu selection. If I had to come up with one criticism, it was that the service could have been a little more attentive. However, it was a busy Saturday with some large party's and the wait staff was being pulled in different directions. Overall, it was a very good dining experience and we'll definitely be back more frequently.More

It had been a while (18-24 mos) since dining at Lugano's until we paid a visit last night; a Sunday. We made reservations and were promptly seated in a comfortable booth. We all remarked that the staff appeared YOUNG; but there were plenty of staff-and...they all did an outstanding job. Seamless drink, appetizer & main course ordering/timing. BEYOND generous bread basket. The mussels appetizer, all 3 entrees, and all 3 drinks (2 beer, one wine) were great. My mom especially loved her seafood scampi over polenta! I regret that we don't remember our waiter's name, but he said that he had recently moved from CA. We will definitely be back very soon.More

Dinner last evening for a celebration turned into a dreadful experience due to the food prep—the pasta was extremely overcooked, salad overdressed, the app was overcooked, shrimp were not prepared as stated on the menu. This restaurant has suffered from placing an inexperienced chef in...its kitchen. We will never go back.More

We came to North Carolina and read the reviews, Decided to try it out. They sat us early, Elise was prompt and courteous. Drinks were great. Food was amazing. Lobster and shrimp polenta , so yummy. Hubby had the chicken Parmesan. Not a lick of...food left on his plate. I would recommend if you like Italian or sea food.More

I have eaten here many times, with my husband, with other couples, and even with the whole family. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is inviting and comfortable.

Overall, I’d give it a 3.5 rating. Our server was friendly and generally attentive. Menu is fairly extensive, but nearly every dish has a seafood influence. If you have a seafood allergy or don’t like seafood, your choices are limited. Our group’s experience was hit...or miss. Hits were the lasagna and the chicken parm (which arrived steaming hot). A miss was the salmon and shrimp, which was charred and only warm. The desserts were good and the creme brûlée was a hit. The overall experience was pleasant, but probably not on my list of all time favorites.More
