The food was amazing and the service was great. The food was fresh and tasty, the best I have had in Boone. We had the chicken wrap which was great!!

My husband and I enjoyed a nice dinner at the Red Onion for our anniversary. Being a Sat night, we called to make a reservation - and were promptly seated on the patio upon arriving 10 min early. Waitress was at the table in a flash. We started with the fried zucchini and it arrived in a short time. Very... More

Extensive menu and everything is fresh and delicious. Salmon was wonderful as were the dinner salads. It's conveniently located right near Appalachian State College and they have wonderful shows and art programs. It's a casual restaurant with outdoor seating available. Service was excellent too.

We ate here while on vacation. The service was great, the food was mediocre, definitely nothing special. I got the French onion soup and grilled chicken Cesar salad. The salad was very fresh, the soup was hot, but not a lot of flavor. My husband got the red pepper chicken and it did not have much flavor at all. The... More

Pre-hiking lunch. Ordered fried zucchini appetizer and it was good not great. Waited 25 minutes for a tuna melt and a soup. There were big parties there also waiting. The lunch was okay. Don't think I will come back.

Food is AWFUL!! Wife, 2 kids and their friends went there because of the reviews. We ordered 2 pizzas, 2 salads, pasta dish and lasagne. With tip bill was $125. Don't mind paying for a good meal but this place is terrible.

I love the fried zucchini sticks with honey mustard. I have been going here off and on for many years. I was a bit disappointed in the size of the serving of the cup of onion soup and the reduced size of the Horace cookie. We were served a very small piece of cookie and 3 small scoops of ice... More

Good food. Good service. Nice outdoor seating. Server was very knowledgable on which dishes were GF. I had the salmon salad with poppy seed dressing. Delicious!

Found the Red Onion in Boone and we were very pleased! This was a great Sunday brunch spot (offering quiches, salad, sandwiches) and our server was the perfect blend of attentive without being overly fussy. We will be back!
