Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place was awesome. The atmosphere, the staff, the drinks, the food and the price. I am very picky about wings and these were some of the best. I ordered the blackberry habanero and my wife ordered the bourbon glazed. Both were crispy and delicious....Our drinks were incredibly good. I ordered the Snickerdoodle Martini and she ordered a Peanut Butter White Russian. Both were unique and spectacular. We ordered sandwiches and chips and they were great. The portions were huge. We took over half our food back to our AirBnB for later. Entire staff was great and price was right.More

I think this is the best meal we've had in Boone, NC. Awesome meal, Kelsey was a great waitress and we'll be back! One last ironic detail... it was VERY foggy when we got there and left.

Greasy overcooked pub food. Tried a few months ago and decided to give it a second try with different menu items and it was no better. I had the beet and walnut salad and it was plain and small (even though I ordered the large)....Also ordered bang bang shrimp- these were so overcooked I couldn’t eat. Servers were very friendly though. Won’t be back.More

There was a bit of a wait to eat here, but once we were seated, we understood why. The food was really tasty!

The bottom line is that the owner, who also owned the recently closed Sunny Rock Eggs and Things breakfast restaurant next door, closed the wrong restaurant! The other was our favorite place....anywhere! We were so disappointed (as were others in cars next to us) to...pull up and see the sign it was permanently closed, so we went next door to Foggy Rock. The menu had their Philly sandwiches as a favorite, so one of us ordered that. The other ordered "The Rock" burger. The Philly was very greasy and the burger was clearly pre-frozen and didn't taste fresh. Both of us got sick that night. Close this restaurant or turn it into Sunny Rock and definitely get rid of the current menu or get a better chef and supplier. Gave it a "Poor" instead of "Terrible" because of the atmosphere.More

We were seated quickly and waited on promptly. Our server was awesome. There are so many great items on the menu it is hard to choose. As a group we ordered, bang bang shrimp, Eurasian fusion, pork Philly with homemade chips, pecan salad with balsamic...dressing and chocolate ganache. EVERYTHING was delicious. This is a restaurant we look forward to visiting every time we are in Blowing Rock. So happy that we happened upon it years ago.More

Atmosphere 5.0 – exceptional, love the woodsy, rustic touches throughout; why even the men’s bathroom even looked cool including urinals made from beer kegs : ) Service – 4.0 – and I’m grading on the curve here for I believe they were short-handed, an all...too familiar refrain these days, hard to blame the restaurant for that Food – 2.5, average at best; Philly Cheese Steak 2.0 (greasy, way too many grilled onions and boy were they “oniony”, and way too much melted cheese (pretty good bun though); fries 3.0 (just ‘okay’); wife’s burger 3.0 was good but “very average;” homemade chips 2.5, many were greasy and soggy; margarita 2.5, okay but too heavy on the agaveMore

I grew up going to this place a lot. It's a decent restaurant with a fairly conventional atmosphere and food selection. Can't go wrong with it.

We sat at the bar and had drinks and dinner. Service was quick and friendly ( even though they were very busy) and food was delicious.

The food just doesn’t seem the same. The old “Big Salad” was better. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was a bit disappointing tonight. We are just not overwhelmed by Foggy Rock anymore.

Foggy Rock quickly won me over with its down-to-earth, quirky brand. They're fans of pop culture and not afraid to show it. (Fun fact: I once called to order a gift card from them and they had the battle music from Undertale as their hold...jingle.) The menu puts a twist on traditional American dishes, as well as those from around the world. I can't recommend the Tokyo Fried Brussels enough--the best Brussel sprouts I've ever had. They're vegan-friendly and deliciously glazed with in-house hibachi sauce. Every bit is juicy but crispy, with just the right amount of blackened "grilled" flavor. I also love their salads. Foggy Rock allows for premium salad add-ons. I always request grilled salmon over top; it's a real winner!More

We sure were pleased with our dinner choice for the one night we stayed in Blowing Rock. Pleasant atmosphere inside and our server was just the best! There were so many wonderful items on the menu, especially the appetizers. We ended up getting the Lil...Smokies and the Cheese Curds. Extremely tasty and generous sizes. We split the Philly sub and it also was very good. Get the jalapenos on the side like we did as we felt they were hot. Too many would have ruined the sandwich. Every individual has personal tastes when it comes to beer/ alcohol but the blueberry wheat was amazingly good! We wish we had a place like this where we live. High marks!More

Got seated quickly outside and the food was great. Husband got a burger that was excellent and I got the turkey pot pie soup with a house salad. Both were quite excellent. Best soup ever! Service was exceptionally fast, too. Put the Speckled Trout to...shame.More

Last minute decision to eat at Foggy Rock during our stay in Blowing Rock. They have a good range of items on the menu without being more than could be done well. Our food was served in a timely manner and proper temperature. Loved the...pretzel! Wait staff was attentive and keep check on if needed anything. We did go slightly before the big dinner rush, which I would recommend as they looked to be getting very busy when we left. Popular place, so plan accordingly. Would definitely eat there again.More
