The food was great. Seems to fill up with people fast. Great entree' selection, and German beers. For some reason I remember the Potato salad being like my Grandmother's recipe.

I really enjoy the food here. Although I have never been to Germany, I would expect the food to taste like this. They have a chocolate cake with a heath bar middle which is one of the best cakes I have EVER eaten.

Loved the potato pancakes. Just like when I was growing up. The Shnitzel was perfect. They have many types of German specialty beers and great desserts.

Asheville has become known as a foodie town in the past decade, attracting all types of cuisine, restaurants popping up every year, many of them gone the next year. In Black Mountain, just 15 minutes away is a quaint little German restaurant that has been serving traditional German dishes for decades. I have dined there many times, and have never... More

Unless you have ever lived in Germany - you will never know the true taste of their food. I lived there for over 10 years - this was the closest I have come to the real "deal." My daughter and I had the Jagerschnitzel - this is a boneless pork chop, beaten very thin and served with mushroom gravy -... More

I have had Jagerschnitzel in Many German restaurants in America and in Germany. That, and Gulyas Soup are my benchmarks for evaluating German restaurants. What Jagerschnitzel I have had in German is always superb. By contrast, what I have been served here in America is always disappointing. Berliner Kindle is no better, in fact may be the worst I have... More

The price is right for the high quality real German food that is served at this restaurant. An absolute MUST stop to make for lunch before going on that hike up the mountain side. Can't say enough about this place to eat, it is the best German restaurant in the greater Asheville/Black Mountain area! Service was excellent!

Food was just ok. Not served hot enough. Servers visited with folks they knew and didn't watch their other tables.

Excellent German food. At first sight, we didn't think we'd try this restaurant, but a customer coming out told us he lived in Germany for several years and this German restaurant equaled that of the best in Germany. So, in we went. The service is good, the food is very typical German good food, choices are probably ten or so.... More
