Friends recommended dinner at the Alpen Restaurant during a recent visit to Beech Mountain. I will say that the trout I had was very nice and substantial. Overall a good meal and one of the better options in the area.

We have eaten there on many occasions. They have casual food or very upscale food. Everything we have ordered was awesome. The portions are good and the service is great. We love to eat and stay here!

We went here for a nice dinner. It did not disappoint. The food was very good. There were 10 of us and our soups and meals arrived in ample time. My husband got the prime rib and he loved it. Several people got the filet but it seemed small. The food was a bit pricey for what you were served.... More

First time away from family for Thanksgiving in many years and wondered what to have for the day and decided to have it at Alpen Inn. We have been there several times and have never been disappointed. We had a traditional turkey/ham dressing, sweet potatoe cassarole after soup, salad and after all that dessert. Our server was great and very... More

They were skimpy on the special sauce for my salmon but did bring me a little more when I asked. The food was fine but there is only so much trout one can stand when you go to NC mountains. It has a nice ambiance but I wish they had lit the fire place.

We've visited a number of times for lunch. The food is always very excellent, as is the service. Enjoy the deer visiting on the lawn.

Many restaurants were closed at this time, but we were happy to find Alpen open. All of the staff pitched in when the place got busier than expected, and made the experience great! Our food was good; steak, pasta, even desserts. Also enjoyed watching deer feed in the field outside our window.

We ate here on our wedding anniversary. The view was beautiful and we loved watching the deer outside our window. We had a salmon appetizer that was very good! We had the trout for our entrees and it was delicious. The portions were large and the service was excellent.

Four of us decided to have dinner outdoors at the Alpen Inn. It's a good idea to go on a Sunday evening, when they have live entertainment, arriving before 6pm. It's a beautiful setting, & the food was quite good & moderately priced.
