We visited on Saturday 18/2/2017, it was a quiet night in town and a quiet night at Finlays. But we loved it, we had the local fish (Red Throat Emperor), portion size was good, cooked perfectly, tasty! The staff were friendly and even though it was quiet, we had a really good time. I've been visiting Kalbarri for the last... More

We visited Finlay's on St Valentines night and what a platter of fish and seafood we were served. All fresh from the sea and our host ensured everybody had a great night . Put in on your list of places to eat if you are in the area

Went to Findlays again after a 16 wait, was a bit worried after reding reviews, but had a great feed of grilled snapper which was a bigger than average serving. The fish burgers were great and the salad bar was fresh and tasty. Will be back again sooner than later.

We were looking forward to eating here but when the food arrived my husbands portion of fish and chips were small for how much they cost. I had the mussels in chilli sauce, they were really tough and chewy, we wouldn't go back again.

Don't know what you expected but we do have the best value local fish!! It's not a charity just great value. Mussles are NZ green lip as stated on the menu and yep they are meaty. More

$35 for a piece of local snapper on a plastic plate with a scoop of chips is rather hefty!!! The "salad bar" was less than average. It's a funky set up and great for a big group with lots of kids however the toilets were DISGUSTING. Would not go back. While the fish was delicious and cooked perfectly it was... More

Finlay's is a funky looking little joint with lovely welcoming staff but that's about as good as it gets. Ordered some prawns and squid, both were very bland, lacked flavour and seasoning and not too sure how fresh they were as we both ended up sick later in the evening (could've been from something else, not sure). Was a bit... More

I have probably eaten here 20 times over 25 years , the place is a great relaxed vibe with many cool things to look at , great for families and kids . Food prices are fair . I just think the kitchen staff are inexperienced , this is the reason why meals are taking so long , it is busy... More

I ordered the fish and chips and it was average. Very small portion and the fish was over cooked. My wife ordered the chilli mussels and she said they were the worst she'd tasted. Not fresh. The location is good and the venue is relaxed. The steak looked amazing and looked like it was cooked to perfection but I can... More

sorry about your fish...I cant say much more on that because you didn't have the decency to bring it up and show me. As for the mussels well...as stated on the menu they are green lip mussels from new Zealand.......They come frozen not fresh. I like them, shame you did not. There seems to be a divide with the mussles... More

So very disappointed i ordered the red throat emperor which was $35 the fish was about the size of a sand whitting. They had no diet drinks to offer and even though they had bread rolls they couldn't sell me one. We both walked out hungry you are better off going to the fish and chip shops in town for... More
