The Taj Mahal is a Beduin restaurant, not an Indian one, in spite of its name. As soon as we entered, I ordered so that I could have something to eat by the time I returned from the toilet. There is no toilet in the...restaurant, which is against the law of course, so the restaurant staff sent me to a nearby hotel. The total walk was around 1/2 of a kilometer.
When I returned, I was disappointed to discover that what I had ordered was unavailable, so I had to order something else. At this point, the music suddenly became very loud. When I asked for it to be turned back down, I was old that they didn't have any time to do so!
We ordered salads. When they arrived, I asked the manager which ones were spicy, as my wife likes spicy and I prefer bland. He told us that they were all bland, and brought my wife a plate of hot, spicy peppers. I tasted on of the salads (not the peppers, of course), and my mouth burst into virtual flames. I told the manager that that salad was burning hot, and he broke out laughing. I would have left right then if I had been alone.
When I asked for salt and pepper, the waiter brought us only salt.
The salads ranged from mediocre to poor. The flies enjoyed all of them.
We ordered chicken breast and kebab for our mains. Both were quite good, and even the cats kept trying to eat them.
Parking is in a free, unpaved lot, or a paid lot down the street.
A restaurant with flies, cats, no toilets, a rude manager, very loud music, mediocre salads, and poor service is not a place I ever want to go back to.More
