We stayed here too. The food at the rooftop is amazing and beautifully presented. The Secret Garden restaurant is atmospheric. Menu was very good choice.

The location of the Secret Garden restaurant is fabulous, set within the ruins of an old building, surrounded by plants and beautifully lit. However, we were very disappointed with the experience. The restaurant was not particularly busy, but it took ages to get served and when we needed something, it was hard to attract anyone's attention, even though there were... More

We kind of bumped into the Secret garden by accident and we loved it. It is located in a backyard, nicely lit, with great music. We had really good wine, the staff was very nice and the food (Köfte) was delicious.

We stopped for a quick lunch while wandering around busy Stone Town. The food was great and the service too. I recommend their fresh ginger tea. The only bad thing about this place was a huge tropical spider hanging above us in their garden restaurant and waiter enjoying our scared looks when we realized it's there.

After a 6 months stay in Stone Town this is the best restaurant expirience. Very nice view, good service, but above all, excellent sea food! You are served a 5-6 course menu, which I suggest you choose a good quality white South African dry wine to accompany. The different courses a elegantly served and is delicious. When I go back... My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. The setting was so romantic, and our service was outstanding. The food was delectable, we enjoyed our three course so much. The homemade hummus was unbelievable, there was so much flavour in every bite of the whole meal.

This restaurant is located in the very old part of town. It is a walking or tutuk ride into the restaurant which is located in a hotel. It is a very lovely garden area with subdued lighting and East African cuisine. It is a place to linger over dinner (do not expect a quick bite to eat). The service is... More

Everything is beautiful here. We stayed at the Camille Room for one night and joined the 5 course dinner on the rooftop. A clear must. Service is great !

We dined luxuriously, slowly, and comfortably at this fabulous restaurant last week. Each course was a delightful surprise that was well-served and portioned. We were able to eat almost all of it and not feel over-stuffed. The fish and vegetables were fresh and paired exceptionally well. The Swahili/Zanzibari flavors were rich and sufficiently but not overly spicy. It was well... More
