Best tasting and cheapest upside bowl we found in any restaurant. Nice variety of salads too. Husband happy as big beers very keenly priced. Cheeky service with a smile, well worth a visit. Lunch service stops at 2pm.

Excellent local bar with blended rums and friendly staff. Local music and relaxed atmosphere. The food is a typical tourist trap and not real Mauritian fare if you know better. Snacks are great but once you reach the mains, don't bother. Room for improvement

Venturing outside the Beachcomber complex, we tried this little restaurant based on earlier reviews. Not at all disappointed; well-cooked local food at a fraction of the price we would have paid at a hotel. We held back at nothing, and the bill for four persons still did not exceed 2.000 MUR. Good service and all sorts of people in the... More

Had 2 dinners here. We loved the staff and the service, they are quite friendly. The portions were enough, the taste was great. We tried only creole dishes. This restaurant is quite cheap compared to the others. We were satisfied, we can recommend it.

La marmitte Mauricienne is certainly one of the cheapest place around. but at some point, one has to chose whether an extra euro saved still maintains the thrill. so, beer is one notch above supermarket price and no cheating on it. but then : ti'punch i had was swamped in water (caught the barman doing it, was not sure it... Very friendly staff and fast service but my dish was tasteless and had no veg at all. Smallish portions but then again the price was low as well. Very nice rum arrange and only Rs65! Three persons ate and drank for under Rs1000, not bad.

Standard Mauritian fare here. Prices cheaper than nearby, had a calamari chow mein and an octopus dish, both decent but nothing above average.

We live nearby and this restaurant seems to attract a lot of tourists, we have tried it twice and found the food to be below average, the service almost non existent and the restaurant is dirty. Fully understand it is a basic local restaurant, we usually enjoy this type of place but this one just was not good at all.... More

Local people, local food. I always have a great time when I eat here, priced right, off the beaten track, not fine dining by any means - just good company, excellent friendly staff, good food and drink and not overly priced like so many places on the island.
