Not a lot to say other than great bread and a Syracuse tradition. Get two...one to eat on the way home and one to eat at home.

This is a rustic little place selling pull-apart bread, Italian loaves, and dough. It does not have an extensive menu, like you think of bakeries as cafes now adays. No, this is more of your great grandpa's bread shop. They make one thing well and it works. Between this bread and the deli at the Mediterranean grocery up the street... More

Columbus Bakery is a staple for my family and so many others I know. It's just good pure bread, simple non-messed with basic ingredients. Great value. We always have to get an extra flat loaf to eat on the way home!

As a native Syracusan I have indulged in Columbus bread a number of times over the years, especially after a late night out partying with friends. The bread is good and the atmosphere genuine. However, if you want the best Italian bread in town it's DiLauro's just a few blocks away on the corner of Division St. and Lodi.

Okay fellow travelers a few pointers for anyone visiting or moving to Central New York from Europe (including the UK.. political joke there). Bring your own bread. Americans in these parts have no idea how to make bread, whatsoever. Columbus Baking are slightly better than the garbage sold by the likes of Topps, Wegman's, Price Chopper, whoever. That is why... I have been eating bread here for 40 years, still made in original brick ovens and no preservatives. Often get it hot from the oven which makes it hard to resist on the drive home. We always buy an extra loaf to eat on the way home, which is only about 10 min.... lol

Columbus Baking has delivered to my family the highest quality freshest breads anywhere in Central New York for well over 100 years. Directly next door is the Columbus Deli which is a must visit if you have an appetite. Our favorite, Meatballs in a Heel - the most amazing creation I have ever found. That's right an amazing "point" loaf... More

I got some Italian break to go for dinner from Columbus Baking Co. and was not disappointed one bit. The loaves were a decent price, about what you'd expect, and they were pretty big. They were tasty! My husband got a meatball sub from here last week and he said it was delicious and that he wanted to take me... More
