At proctors for future Cities Competition and selected this place given overall trip advisor rating for being near by Proctors. Guess we picked wrong day - cook or owner just married and no soup on menu available or chicken salad. Three of us opted for grilled cheese on sour dough bread. Can't mess that up much but it was dry.... More

For a small kitschy restaurant in downtown Schenectady, Ambition beats them all! I am a local and have been going there for years and love it. sosatm (a recent reviewer) apparently was looking through a spy glass because while the place is old its not dirty. The sandwiches are creative and delicious and the coffee is fantastic. I love the... More

This place is OK, nothing special. I had pancakes and my husband had eggs and home fries. The decor is funky interesting and the service was great. Maybe the sandwiches are better - people next to us ordered those and they looked good.

This was a fun, unique place- a lot to look at inside! Excellent food and the staff was very friendly! Gluten free friendly. I had a sandwich that was HUGE and fresh! I look forward to going again!

We stopped by for lunch as we passed through town. Even though they were busy we were able to find a seat and were waited on promptly. Those are the pros. The cons are that the restaurant is dirty, the floor are filthy, there are cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and the decor is old and dingy. Our lunch sandwiches... More

I'm a local and often visit Ambition for breakfast on a Sunday morning. It's cool place with a nice atmosphere and friendly service. I highly recommend the blueberry pancakes. Oh, and the coffee is always great. It can get crowded on Sunday morning so it might be best to get there by 10:30. If not, you might have to wait... More

Stopped by early evening dinner. Great black bean burger and unique salad with quinoa and hummus on top. Service was friendly and quick. Attentive to those going to a show.

Marc has a gem of a small intimate cafe and the vibe is very low key and comfortable. nestled on pedestrian Jay Street just across the street from Proctors Theatre, it is a great place to nosh before a concert, play, etc @ Proctor's. The brunches on Sunday are well balanced for meat eaters and vegetarians and vegans as well.... More

We struggled to find Ambition - my GPS didn't correctly place it, and Jay St seems to have changed shape over the past few years. When we arrived, we found a table at the back and soaked in the mixture of aged American building and Hollywood nostalgia. We were amused as patron after patron struggled to find the restrooms located... More
