I only stopped in here today for the cookies (which are wonderful), but I ended up with some bagels as well, This is really a neat little Jewish deli with all the "fixin's", like the ground whitefish, lox, etc, and they are all delicious. I highly recommend this place for real deli products and fresh baked bagels and other bakery... More

Had a coupon from a coupon book so I went to try it out. Glad I went. The bagels were outstanding. Reminded me of the bagels I got when I was in NYC. The staff and owner are friendly and the service was very good. Would definitely go her even without a coupon.

Do yourself a favor - get the chicken salad - beyond excellent! The consistency of this and other menu items makes this an icon within the town of Brighton and Monroe County. The cheerful service and reasonable prices set this apart from all other delis.

I would consider moving to Rochester just to be able to go to Brownsteins on a regular basis! I grew up in Cleveland, going to the marvelous Jewish delis, and have missed getting good bagels in Syracuse. I had an everything bagel with lox, cream cheese, tomato, capers and red onion, and was so so happy! The bialy was so... More

I normally LOVE Brownstein's Deli. They have great spreads, fish, bagels, and lots more. Today, however, I went in and got a bag full of their little cookies (e.g., ribbon cookies), and found problems. They were stale and hard. I won't hold this against them, because they are closing for the next week or two (Passover break), and they need... More

We got deli for Christmas instead of going for Chinese. Really loved the food. Haven't had a meal from them in a long time.

Stopped in here for lunch while on a business trip. Live in San Diego, CA and wish we had a Deli as good as this one! I had the turkey on a Challah roll with sweet peppers and it was delicious! The best sandwich I have had in all my travels.

I popped in here today for some more of my favorite spreads, including the salmon and the whitefish. This place knows how to make good Jewish food! The also have a wonderful cookie display that has all the goodies you could possibly want, to go along with their fabulous home-made bagels. Oiy! Ya gotta love it!

This place is probably best known for their bagels, as they are the sole surviving bagel shop left in this predominantly Jewish neighborhood. The have a display case with all kinds of deli spreads and such, including my favorite, the whitefish spread, which I love putting on bagels. Yummy! The employees know everyone in the neighborhood, and it's just fun... More

The rye bread is the best I have ever had and I have had a lot of rye bread. The pastrami with fat heated up is as good as any except maybe the Carneigie in NYC. Salmon salad and whitefish salad is great on rye crisps. The staff and the owner are great. Almost seems like all family. There is... More
