I have previously reviewed this diner and gave it rave reviews. We visited again yesterday, after my father's Dr appointment. My father has a difficult time ambulating. The owner and the servers went out of their way to help my father, to make his walk to/from the table as easy as possible. They were all extremely helpful and friendly. All... More

Stopped by for breakfast as our usual place was closed due to power outage; was busy but no wait; lots of families/groups there creating pleasant din; mix of booths and tables; Wait staff responsive and friendly; nice array of breakfast options - eggs, omelets, pancakes/waffles. Home fries were tasty - cooked onions.

I grew up in Rochester, and on a trip back, had been telling my family about the multitude of great diners. We hit up Mt. Hope for breakfast because I'd been there as a kid and it was near our hotel. It did not disappoint. Friendly staff, good food. Everyone liked what they ordered. One of my sons would have... More

We stop in here when we are in the area for my dad's appointments. The food is good, staff is friendly. We never have to wait for a table or our food.

My wife and I stopped in to have lunch away from the hospital. Excellent selection of food, and it was delicious. Service was good as well.

We went on Sunday of RIT's family weekend, kmowing that Jay's Diner would be mobbed. Mt. Hope is closer to U of R; Jay's is closer to RIT. We were a party of five but were asked to sit at a larger table so they could serve us sooner. (OK by me!) Our order was taken in a reasonable amount... More

but this was probably one of the worst lunches my husband and I have ever had. Many people around us were having breakfast, and that looked good. We each had a cup of their daily special soup, Manhattan clam chowder. Pretty sure it came out of a can....a sliver of a clam and tasted a bit tinny. Then we decided... More

It's close to the U of R and one of the main drags. Food is not bad. and parking is beside it. Serves the usually diner fare.

Adjacent to Collegetown and walking distance from Strong Memorial Hospital and University of Rochester, it is easy to miss this diner's small non-lit sign walking on Mt. Hope street. Walking in is like walking into a genuine eatery of the past, with tasty very inexpensive basic food prepared simply. Nothing remotely fancy or pretentious; just genuine simplicity. Breakfast served at... More

I took my family to this place on Sunday morning. It was busy, but there was plenty of empty tables. We were told to seat ourselves. we waited about 10 minutes before a server showed up with menus. We had a 5 year old with us and he was asking about when he was going to eat. 10 minutes later... More
