We tried a chicken empanada. It had good flavor, it was hot, and just the right amount of grease, but the filling was a little scarce. Could have had more.

Everyone loves this place. It is good, cheap eats by public market standards. I like the folks who work this stand. They are super friendly and efficient. I think lots of people come to the market primarily for this venue.
Delicious way to start the day with a Juan and Maria's Empanada. Fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. Can also highly recommend the plantains !

Jaun and Maria's Empananda Stop is a must-do feature of the Rochester Public Market. Whether having the signature empanadas or beans and rice, or tostones, etc. You will be pleased. Their various salsas are excellent and available for purchase as well.
