The husband and I finally got away for a long weekend after a year of staying home due to COVID-19. Our last night at an AirBnB, we ordered take out from Savona’s. I got the pasta w/Nona’s Sunday Sauce. Bucatini with red sauce, two meatballs...and a large sausage. It was delicious! The meatballs had a little too much cheese in them, but I’m not a big cheese person, so that was probably my own personal taste. Otherwise completely yummy. The husband got the limoncello salmon with spinach risotto and he said it was excellent. 5 stars all around!More

Went here for the Sunday jazz brunch in December. They had a 2 piece jazz combo (piano and bass) playing mostly traditional holiday selections. They were very good and the sound level was perfect for the setting. The place wasn't too busy, but they had...a nice selection of choices with juice and coffee (of course). The service was good, although the waitress could have been a little more attentive. Overall, it was a very nice experience.More

Invited my best friend as I heard this was a great jazz brunch. They had the jazz duo right by the front door and it was just not conducive to hearing or appreciating. I know the place is tricky for that but I think they...can do better. The food was fine. The omelette station 'closed" at 12:30 and could only be ordered through the waitress which to me, was really a put off. WHY? I felt like things were tepid at best and not hot and I also felt like it was basic...nothing that wowed me at all. The waitstaff was so nice...I ordered a bloody mary that was bland...nothing wowed me what's so ever. The staff could NOT WAIT TO CLEAN UP by 2. I am wondering if they are spreading themselves too thin with three restaurants. it is starting to show. I LOVE the Kingsotn place. I hope they keep their quality. It will not be a good ending if things continue to be this bland.More

This is not about the food. We had made a reservation & had to wait 15 minutes. Another party almost left because they had 2 wait over 1 hr, w/a party of 12; AND they made a prior reservation too. Because of the new "aesthetic"...renovations, the waiting area was extremely congested (near cold, icy door); mainly consisted of a Bar which inappropriately extended outwards, into the customers standing room only, area. I have Raynaud's syndrome & sensitive. Some tables 2 the right if you needed a cocktail or 2. Poor designed. Like entering a bar. Very good selection for the brunch. Excellent price & choices. Today we are at Savonna's in Kingston. Hugely disappointed. Their fabulous lunch specials are a "thing of the past". Small print on the back of a small menu said; Due to the rising prices of food costs, food waste, taxes & labor, we will be charging an extra $1.95 for a soup/or salad. Umm. Huge exception Savonna. We finally noticed what everyone looks forward towards: NO MORE FABULOUS DESSERT, COFFEE/TEA, SODA included. This CLEARLY was not in print NOR told by any server. Biggest shockerer, seeing $12.00 in extra (surprise) fees for charging for 4 beverages (2 seltzer,a pepsi & an iced tea). We were ",clueless" on this, prior 2 getting their menu. Anyone else a Mind Reader? We used 2 pay $56.00 for 4 people. Affordable menu & delicious choices. Today total cost was $74.00. We will not be going back 2 either locations. Owners planned this because of their Grand opening of a new Restaurant in the City of Poughkeepsie. Verdict; costs went up for faithful customers so we can fund another restaurant for them.More

We had an early dinner here. Everything is really good-the food, drinks, service and decor. It’s mostly Italian and done right.

Locals told us this place was always good, and they are correct. Handsome building in the local Greek Revival style, attractive and artful interior, and a menu with broad choices that all sound good. From the daily special, we had the butternut squash apple soup,...a bit sweet, and the sausage and pasta dish with a nice red wine. Our server, Danielle, was friendly, attentive and very pleasant, and the other staff were all good. Very flavorful and serious food, we hope to go back again. Full bar and outdoor terrace.More

Best lasagna I have ever had with fresh basil and parmesan. Fresh made caesar salad. Nice atmosphere, good service and lots of tables. We will be back for sure.

My family went here on a Friday night (with reservations for 7:30). The place was very busy, but they had set a table for us (for 10) and we were able to sit right away. We initially were in the back room, but we decided...we wanted to sit in the middle room (much noisier) where half the table wasn't sitting against a wall. They were able to move us very quickly without a hitch. We were able to order right away as the servers were very attentive. There was a mix up when the orders were delivered to our table (a chicken and veal dish were swapped), but it was rectified right away. The food was delicious (we had the Rigatoni Bolognese and chicken marsala). The portions were very large and we were tempted to leave some to take home, but we finished our dishes anyway. I didn't poll everyone at our table but it seemed that everyone enjoyed their meals. This was my second time here and I would gladly come back again.More

Three of us went there on a busy Saturday night and were promptly seated. Our server was very helpful and brought our drinks and food without delay. Our used plates and such were removed shortly after we finished our very good entrees. The food was...very good and there is a wide selection of food as well as drinks. The noise level is on the high side though and there were no parking spaces available which required us to park next door a few hundred feet away which was something of a challenge in the dark. Overall however it was a good experience and we will return.More

Formally Max’s Bbq is now Savona’s. They advertise $1.00 oysters all day Monday’s UNTIL THEY RUN OUT!! Truthfully I had been there once a year ago and had a nice dinner. We had a seafood Fra Diablo which was pretty good. Good enough to want...to return. I was driving passed there one afternoon and saw the sign that read $1.00 Oysters all day Monday. My friend and I decided we had to indulge. We ordered 1 dozen each and we received 8 each as there were none left at 8:30 pm. WOW what a disappointment. I am a huge fan of oysters enough to know they were Hillmans frozen pasteurized oysters. They were not slacked out properly and the muscle was dried out along the edges. I will not write off this restaurant and will try it again next summer and hope it was just a bad night.More
