Geelbek is a quirky place that looks and feels unloved and a bit sad - yet there is something bizarrely engaging. The food is freshly prepared and tasty; it is simple fare and doesn't pretend to be anything else. Lots of people come in, take...More

Don't bother to go there until someone else takes over the restaurant. I am not sure who runs it at present ..... Parks Board? We visited for the first time in September. We were greeted with a board at the entrance which informed visitors that...More

Good day, We note your feedback, I am not sure which date you were at Geelbek as it is 1 Nov today, it would help in future if you give feedback closer to the time, so we can address it punctually. The restaurant is in...More

We spent a whole day in the West Coast National Park and this was the only option for available for lunch. We visited twice during the day for coffee and lunch. Being birders we enjoyed the location and cafe itself for all the bird life...More

I am a positive kind of person and a fair judge of restaurants but when I say that my eating experience was not good then I mean it. I had venison pie which was drowned with vinegar and cloves and the pumpkin fritters were like...More

Thanks for your feedback I will take service levels up with staff. Venison pie is made with tamarind paste that has a vinegar taste. It is an old Cape Malay recipe and an acquired taste. It is not for everyone. Regards

Thanks for your response. We are in flowers season serving 1000 clients a day. Sorry that you waited 30 minutes. In other restaurants I would have been happy to wait 45 minutes when it is a busy as it was on Sunday. We are 145km...More

This was a re-visit after about a year. From the outset it was a disaster. The service was exceptionally poor. One of the coffee cups was dirty and had to be sent back for a fresh one. For what needs to be a showcase with...More

Good day I take note, we have been servicing cup to 900 people per day. I will look into this as this is not acceptable for me either. Regards

We travelled to the West Coast national park to see the flowers and as we arrived after a lengthy drive we decided to have lunch at the Geelbek Restaurant. Coming from Gauteng, I couldn't wait to get an authentic Bobotie and the blurb in the...More

In general, the Geelbek restaurant is holding a captive audience. There is nowhere else to eat unless you take your picnic basket. The staff and welcoming and polite. The food is overpriced, I think. Tasty, but not wow. The drinks are very expensive. For us...More

This review would have been worse if the milktart wasn't that good. I could easily have had a second portion. I think the pancakes are completely overpriced for what you get. The service was slow and the waiters seem to disappear completely. We eventually got...More

Food good, and well presented. Service average. Toilets a bit "public" in that you can hear what's going on from where you are sittingMore
