This restaurant is in a lovely location by the sea. The atmosphere is intimate and more traditional but they do welcome children. We had 3 good quality meals plus some nice cocktails and the service was quick, friendly and efficient.

The most important aspect of this restaurant is the location, directly besides the rolling waves from the ocean. Food is nothing special and service not really friendly.

According to the reviews Farolin should have it all: great food, great location, great atmosphere. So we decided to have dinner there. The location is indeed great, high above the sea. We decided to sit outside. This was a mistake because if there is wind (and there seems to be always wind on Sal) this restaurant seems to be right... More

This was one of the the most highly rated restaurants in Santa Maria, but I honestly do not understand why. The service was fairly good and the staff, although very busy, was friendly. The food though was very disappointing. The octopus starter was not very fresh, the grilled cod main was very dry, probably made from bacalau (Portuguese type salt-dryer... More

Well after reading so many good reviews we had to try Farolin. What a disappointment maybe it stems from having such a high expectation of fish restaurants when you both grew up in fishing villages in Sicily and Dublin. Regardless of that, a culinary forgettable experience, my starter of octopus salad smelt fishy and old and in truth put me... More

We went here for evening meal on our last night. The food and service was excellent, they had a live band playing authentic cape verdian music. We loved the location of the restaurant, over looking the ocean. it did get a little chilly due to the time of year, but they moved us as soon as a table became available.... More

make sure you eat the cracks, percebes, and the free live lobster from the tank, enjoy with wine as the band plays, we are looking forward to going back in summer!

The best of this restaurant is definitely the views, stunning place and the food is fresh and tasty. The wine is overpriced and the staff isn't the most friendly thought....

Small restaurant, not easy to find. Only 22 seats and run by husband and wife, both from Italy. The italian chef are as many italians proud of the food he cooks and combined with high quality ingridients and a lovely wife treating all guests with respect and listen to their demands, this are by far the best restaurant on Sal.
