Old tavern atmosphere with trompe l'oeil paneling and stone on the walls. But the food is the real thing--a small menu with huge flavors. Beautifully prepared food, with inventive tastes. Prices are quite reasonable for such quality. Very enjoyable.

The building is rustic and could be charming but it is dark and dreary inside. The pseudo wood paneling in the dining room is ugly. Limited menu selections. Wait staff very impatient. She abruptly answered questions and did not like to deviate from menu to accommodate guest request. The host was pleasant. Will not recommend.

Very accommodating staff & owners. My family meets here a few times a year as it is halfway for most of us. We've been coming since our teenage kids were little & they have always adapted to various dietary needs, both real & just finicky. Our octogenarian elders with walkers find it negotiable, even though it in not technically "accessible."... More

Have not been to this restaurant in quite some time. A year or so ago, stopped by for lunch with a friend and learned that the new owners did not do lunch. Time passed and on a snowy evening, when back in town, decided to go back for dinner as we had heard great things about the food and service.... More

We got married September 10, 2016 and planned on having a small luncheon for 40 guests. We wanted some place local and quaint with good food and drinks. Having known Tom for many years and have eaten there Many times before , we decided to have it at his restaurant. It was the perfect place for us. Cocktail hour was... More

I was there 2 times for dinner. The food was very tasty and they put effort into the plating. The tavern has a nice story; you will find it at the back of the menu. The patio seemed very nice too, but not an option at the end of September. Check the schedule before going, Monday is closed.

Professional staff, everyone was top notch, salads were very good, we tried the Crispy Chicken and Salmon dinners, presentation was excellent, felt the salmon portion was too small, coffee and cappuccino were good, desserts were excellent - Creme Brûlée for sure!

This place has seen history from the 18th Century to the Roaring 20's and now in the 20th Century the Tavern prepares classic dishes and cocktails that suit our tastes. The mussels appetizer and cheese plate are exceptional. The planked salmon was done just right as was the braised beef. No room for dessert, ask for wine advice to pair... More

Great place to stop in and have a nice quiet dinner. Menu is a little bit pricey but besides that the food is very good and the service is great. Would certainly recommend to friends and family!

Well worth the visit. The history, the warm and inviting hosts and the terrific menu items make this a great place to enjoy a meal. The terrace is a great place to experience this gem. The freshest salmon perfectly prepared, the best chicken you will find for miles, all finished with beignets to die for.
