Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was in the area for an appointment. This was a much anticipated visit, which fell short. Place was clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the marinated skirt steak wrap. Steak was tender but the wrap as a whole fell short for me. The balsamic dressing was way too sweet. Fries were great! A true double fried boardwalk style fry.
I did not care for the fact, the menu did not have any description of ingredients in the selections. I feel that's important for allergies and dietary needs.
Guy Fieri loved it. I liked it. Will I return? Yes.

The Pit Stop (Good Eats) in Merrick, NY is conveniently
located at 1706 Sunrise Highway in Long Island.
Owner Tony, a son of Brooklyn, NY is a welcoming,
down to earth guy.
The restaurant is spotless, and the staff are friendly
and efficient.
The menu is extensive, with a variety of fresh wraps,
burgers, paninis, soups and so much more to explore.
Two Thumbs up. Enjoy!

Food was excellent. Menu was extensive. The manager Tony ( not sure if he was the owner) was very nice and attentive. A last minute decision turned out to be a great experience.

Despite its big bright sign, someone driving by might just miss it if they are going a little fast. Do yourself a favor, DON'T MISS OUT ON IT. The food here is simple but extremely high quality.
Boasting a standard American fare at first glance, a more in depth exploring of their menu finds juicy shrimp burgers, vegetable based pasta, and a dessert case reminiscent of an Italian restaurant. Make no mistake about it, the food here is fresh, nothing feels like it comes from a freezer or a can. My standard for many places come from a serving of New England Clam Chowder. You can always tell when it's canned or partially canned. The soup inevitably turns out overly salty when using canned ingredients. You can taste the butter and cream in the soup and while one might complain, I am happy to have found a small sliver of clam shell in the soup (hey, no cook is perfect). Chicken tenders is almost standard out of the freezer. Little secret, they're not here. What awaits you is a beautiful golden, not greasy, ginger of juicy chicken. I have eaten here many times and have not been disappointed yet.
The staff here is also extremely friendly, always ready to answer questions and make sure your food is nothing short of excellent. They always ask how the food is when you finish and greets all departing diners.
Worth mentioning, is one staff member in particular. Sulma is very attentive and watches for your expression to change from deciding to ordering and greets you with a genuine smile as she places your order. That's not to say the rest of the staff don't give you attention but she stands out for me.
A colorful menu of good food awaits the tired traveler looking to refill a growling stomach. I, repeat, DON'T MISS OUT ON IT.

Would recommend other places, Gyro Palace next door is much better. But pricing is reasonable and it’s quick and easy.

Stopped in last week for lunch as the greek gyro joint next door was full. Ordered a chicken pot pie and a Philly cheese steak. Pot pie was fair. Not much chicken and bland. For $11, I expected much more.. It was served in a bowl with a puff pastry on top. Quite frankly KFC offers a better chicken pot pie for $5 (drink included). Cheese steak sandwich not much better. The 'dining room' had all the charm and ambiance of a middle school cafeteria except when anyone entered the place, you would be hit with a blast of cold air. We couldn't wait to leave. Won't be back.

We saw the Pit Stop on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. We stopped in to try their Cuba Sandwich. It was pretty good, not as spicy as most We've tried. They have a pretty nice menu and if in the area again will stop in. The staff was friendly and prices weren't to bad.

Amazing variety on their menu....I love the California burger with avocado on a brioche bun...delicious! Great salads, wraps, and soups. We love that they deliver locally...we order in at least 2-3x a month.

Wraps are fantastic here. Usually very good. Sometimes a bit spotty, but usually very good. Spicy chicken and crispy fish are our favorites. Hamburgers are too much bun and not enough meat. All the other food is fresh and homemade, like you would make at home.

This is an amazing place. I used to think that fast food and fresh food were mutually exclusive, however the Pit Stop proved me wrong.
The food is remarkable freshness, healthyiness, and overall quality. I highly recommend the Chicken Power Bowl with Balsamic, the Chicken Avocado Wrap, and the glorious sweet potato fries.
Lunch or dinner, this definitely is the place to go for a quick bite, and you'll feel good about it later for sure. All I know is that I'll be dining here much more often.
Also--- and this is important in a review. The restaurant was CLEAN, and the staff (including the owner/manager) was extremely polite, respectful and a pleasure to meet.

I spoke to Tony about catering a baby shower in my home.
He was gracious and informative and made several suggestions about the items I should serve.
This caterer was recommended to me by a friend who used this service more than once and was thrilled with the results each time.
I will definitely use The Pit Stop for my party.

The Pit Stop is one of my absolute favorite restaurants to go to. The food is so good and the service is phenomenal. My boyfriend and I try to go a few times a month, the food is always good and we've never had a bad experience. I am a sucker for their Kung Pao Calamari, I think I get it every other time we go. But I do try to get something different every now and then, and it's always good. This time I got the Mexican burger, which had chili, jalapenos, and cheddar cheese on it and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Their homemade fries are some of the best as well. The owners are the nicest people ever! They recognize and say hi every time we come in. Today, as they handed us our food and we were getting ready to leave, they also gave us some chocolate chip cookies on the house! They are the sweetest of people and their restaurant and food is amazing. They deserve all the support and I hope they continue to do well for years to come.

This is a great local spot for amazing fresh food, it's been reviewed by Guy Fieri but that is not the reason to go there. While they do have a small seating I wold not recommend it for the ambiance. I use delivery which is always fast.
The food is GREAT fresh and well thought out. The wraps are very varied , Chicken
Portobello Mushroom with sun dried tomatoes and gorgonzola is my favorite.
The paninis are all good , you cant go wrong with the Cuban. My favorite item is the
Chicken Gumbo soup nice and tangy, brings back memories of New Orleans!!
Stop by or order via phone you wont be dissapointed.
