The Basil Leaf has offered the same warm atmosphere, excellent service and outstanding menu for many years.

The food and the ambiance is truly excellent. It's a good neighborhood restaurant in the heart an elegant town, Locust Valley. Come stop in for the experience. Don't look at the disappointing reviews be your own critic and experience it for yourself.

For some reason that I cannot remember, my husband and I stopped going to Basil Leaf a few years ago. Our friends suggested we eat there recently and we agreed to go. Everything was exactly how we remembered the restaurant to be. The owner came right over to us because we decided to eat inside. Originally we we were set... More

Would I go back? – No. Would I recommend it? – No. Why? The food was OK, if boring. Curious was how the pasta dishes lack herbs, the opposite of what one might expect in a restaurant named Basil Leaf. We dressed for nicer dining, but were shuttled to the casual bar area which was stuffy and too warm. The... More

Was looking forward to visiting this restaurant as I heard many nice things from my friends who live nearby about it, but the whole experience was ruined by the rude manager and his poor attitude towards accommodating customer requests or at least handling it in a pleasant manner.

Very consistent and lovely setting are two of it's strong points. Summers dining is available in a lovely courtyard between two dining rooms.

Many trips, food is always great. Always see familiar faces around the dining room. I have had a great Risotto the last two times.

Although I almost ALWAYS get the Penne Ala Vodka ( IT'S PERFECT ), along with anything else ( HA! ) - the Grilled Shrimp w Zucchini Linguine is Superb! The Salads are Refreshing and Wonderful. The Pizza's are the Freshest Anywhere! But, MOSTLY, the OWNER, Vito, MANAGER, Adam and their entire staff are SO WARM and WELCOMING- It REALLY DOES... More

This is the place I fell in love with gnocchi. The staff and chefs are some of the best I've seen, and the decor is completely charming. I love taking friends here and showing off a little :)
