Do not eat here. The place smells like mildew, the salad bar has only the following items: browning lettuce, rubbery tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, dressings, grapefruit, watermelon, and apples THAT IS IT! Ridiculous. The food was bland, home fries were microwaved. Oh and they also ripped...More

Growing up in the 60s and having been taken on many long car trips this was like time travel for me, and yet the breakfast was excellent and well priced none the less. This should be put on the registry of historic places.

Mildew and mold smell is overpowering. Can't imagine this passes any health inspection. We took a look at the menu and the staff and walked out.

This last Howard Johnson's IS still open but off season hours appear to vary according to whether the owner judges there to be enough business to stay open. My spouse and I made a trip from Connecticut specifically to visit the last Hojo's in the...More

We stopped at the world's last Hojo's primarily because we were in a traffic jam and only saw tail lights all the way down into Lake George. So we gave up on LG and decided to have lunch. Can't say that I would recommend it...More

Not sure this is a question
We live in Oklahoma and are going to Maine later this summer. We really want to go to this restaurant and have the fried clams. But the reviews are not good, and no one mentions the clams. Any help here? We would be going out of our way - is it worth it? We loved Hojo's growing up and traveling, but don't want to be disappointed.

Honestly, I had the clams and they were good, but they were the only good entree among 3 of us. They were very expensive, $17. The place is really old and not renovated at all. You're better off going elsewhere. It's... More
