We came to visit after hearing about this place from NatGeoTV's Filthy Riches. Ray is a nice guy. He sells food that he smokes and we were also able to get honey and maple syrup from other locals in his shop.

The smoking General lives at Delaware Delicacies. We had smoked shrimp - amazing, smoked game hen - best poultry I've ever had in my life, smoked gouda - it was a good-a. Host Ray is the best.

Me before going here: I don't like salmon. Me after going here: Where has this deliciousness been my whole life and why didn't I buy it all? I must have hot smoked salmon everyday forever. Seriously amazing hot smoked salmon and the trout was good too. There was no shrimp or eel but I wish I had gotten some cheese.... More

Follow the hand painter signs to the smoke house. It is a one of a kind treat in the Catskills. Excellent smoked shrimp, salmon, and don't forget the eel. Be sure to watch out for bears on your way in and out.

Best smoked shrimp ever. Huge for 2$ a pop. I also got the smoked salmon and Gouda. Everything was delicious. Other local items are also sold in the store. Didn't get to try the eels (he was out) but I'll visit again for sure!

I took my sons and their friends to meet Ray Turner today. I was a little disappointed that he was out of eel but he gave me the heads up when I called him two days before. It didn't matter to me, I wanted to see his operation. He gave the kids the full tour of his operation. Including his... More

This really more of a specialty store than a restaurant. It is off the beaten path, about 4 miles off the highway. The last half miles is dirt, I would not go after a rain. Prices were on the high side but the product was good. While they do have posted hours, the owner had to walk offer from his... More

Ever since seeing Ray Turner on NatGeoTV's Filthy Riches, I've wanted to visit his smoke house in Hancock, NY. Our recent family trip to the Finger Lakes region of New York state brought us into the area, and we made the small detour out to see him. What fun!!! Not only was it an adventure getting there (Ray lives in... More

If, you can find this place, you will be pleasantly surprised. Ray Turner makes the best smoked food I have ever had. His shop is nestled among the trees on the banks of the East branch of the Delaware river. If you have the time, chat with Ray for a bit. It will likely be entertaining and educational.
