We were staying at the lodge across the street and enjoyed an excellent dinner with authentic German food and draft beers. The only problem is that we went on a Sunday evening and there was a two hour wait. They did let our lodge call ahead to put us on thier list but we had to wait quite a while... More

While driving towards Pennsylvania we stopped here for a very late lunch on a friend's recommendation. We are going back home to California and have nothing like this. We tried a number of them in SoCal and nothing tasted real This place is amazing. Everything we tried was great. The schnitzel Holstein was great so was the rouladen and the... More

My family has been coming here today for what seems like a lifetime of memories. Sunday drives to the mountains and a stop for some great German food. Now I am doing the same with my family. Great food and ambiance. If you procrastinate as to your arrival, you will be surprised that this gem gets packed during the week... More

Had another great meal there this past week .. Try the Rueben pastry as an appetizer. It is amazing.. Totally enjoyed the weiner schnitzel and the sauerbraten. Beautiful restaurant that takes you to another place in time. Staff dressed in dirndels and lederhosen. Definitely worth the trip up the mountain!

The food is delicious! This location is consistently busy but the service is quick. Friendly and attentive wait staff operate seamlessly. Nice variety of German beers, a surprisingly good red wine selection. When the food arrives...OH MY! They serve generous portions; specifically the jaeger wiener schnitzel (a must have). After taking a beautiful long hike...this is the best place to... More

Before coming to this place I had never really had German Cuisine other than the nightmares of having frozen dinners as child that were labeled as German. The restaurant is very nice in a great setting but the food was truly excellent. Definitely worth a trip to go to!

This was our first visit to the Mountain Brauhaus and it wont be our last. We have enjoyed good German food in both Germany and New York City. This place ranks with the best of them. The menu is filled with traditional favorites -- not just your usual sauerbraten and herring. We ordered weiner schnitzel and kasseler ripchen.. Each was... More

Great, authentic German food, but be prepared to wait. We went on Labor Day weekend and got our name on the list at 4:40. We went back to the hotel, showered, came back, and still had to wait until 6:45 to be seated. I would recommend calling ahead as early as you can to get your name on the list... More

My husband and I stopped at the Brauhaus for a light lunch. He ordered a brautwurst sandwich, and I had the special salad with wild salmon. My salad cost $21. $10 of the $21 was the wild salmon. We waited over an hour to be served a salad and a sandwich. We watched 4 tables seated after us received their... More

I drove by this place dozens of times when I was returning back to NYC after a day in the Gunks and always thought the idea of a German restaurant here was funny. Rustic Rhinemaidens with their blonde hair in braids serving me oversized beer in frosty mugs alongside blutwurst and sauerkraut. Well, what the hell is wrong with that?... More
