Walking down the strip, made a pit stop for a couple brews. Bartender was fantastic. She had us amused and held great conversation. Nice small line of beer taps. We didn't eat but the food looked good and plenty of people were eating up. Would...More

Breakfast was great: eggs were cooked perfectly, bacon was crispy (as requested) and home fries were tasty. Great coffee! Service was also very good and prices were good.

While in Cooperstown the Doubleday Cafe is a must. The food and service are some of the best you will find in Cooperstown. We ate there twice and both times were awesome. Our first night I had the chicken quesadilla, I was not starved so...More

Awesome food and service. A must while you are in Cooperstown. Went there a few times. French toast AWESOME and the blueberry and whip cream waffle even better.

What a great slogan! Food was good and service was nice, too. Reasonable prices and cold beer. We enjoyed it very much.

Menu was a bit limited and some selections on the expensive side, but that is to be expected for the location. Staff was very friendly. Good local flavor.

We were told today that you were transitioning from breakfast to lunch and there would be a 40 minute wait. I've never experienced that anywhere before and we chose not to wait.

I'm guessing the kitchen just isn't large enough to do it differently. If they had a weekend buffet geared to volume breakfast food that might also be a factor.

Hello, Our transition from breakfast to lunch during the summer has become a real problem. I made the decision this morning that anyone who comes in for breakfast by 11am and stays in the restaurant will receive breakfast. If that means we can't start serving lunch until 11:30 or 12 noon, so be it. We are in our 25th year of operation and we have never taken reservations. It has all ways been first come, first serve. In light of that philosophy, everyone who comes in for breakfast will be served breakfast. I want to thank you for your comments. We are constantly trying to make the doubleday as good as it can be. There is all ways room for improvement. Sites like trip advisor are enabling restaurants to get better by way of customer input. Hope we can prove that to you. If you are in the area, please let us offer you the good food and service we are well known for. Can we offer you a gift certificate to make up for your bad experience?

Description
The Doubleday Cafe is open year round, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. We offer a chalk board of specials for all three meals. With seating of about 70, we also offer a fine selection of beer, wine and top shelf liquors. Our goals are to serve the freshest food, along with the best service, at the most reasonable prices. The Doubleday celebrated it's 20th anniversary in 2011.
