It takes about 90 minutes on Metro North to get there, and the views of the Hudson are spectacular. I really didn't see Beacon aside from Dia and the train station, but I appreciated the easy walking distance between the two.
Here is the place to eat , was in the town for 3 weeks, and this was the resaurant we visit most and had the really eat at home feeling! two thumbs up
We've been here since 2004 when we downsized to a smaller house. There's so much to do here, whether it's window shopping on Main Street or art gallery hopping. The river front park and the long dock are great for some R&R. Love this town!
Beacon is a small city which has made many improvements. They have really done a nice job with their Main Street area. They are building a hotel and restaraunt near the waterfall. They have nice parks. The waterfront is beautiful and the people are nice.

Uptown --this is a great find--and the wood fired pizza is fabulous....listed as an appetizer, 3 of us could have dined on that alone---which would be a great value for something so delicious! Everything else is equally good.
