Doc Martin's Restaurant is an acclaimed dining establishment located in a registered historic landmark. A Taos tradition for locals and visitors alike, the warm ambiance of Doc's has been a gathering place since the 1920s and 30s. Our menu is a presentation of New American and Northern New Mexican cuisine, specializing in fresh organic foods from the Southwest. Known for its incredible value and vast selections from old to new world, our wine list has earned Wine Spectator's "Best Of" Award of Excellence for twenty-nine consecutive years.
Three of us dropped in about 5:30 on a Monday in January. We were seated immediately. I ordered a Dewars and a bottle of Oregon Pinot Noir. A little confusion about finding the wine, but it did arrive. When my wife decided she wanted a...More
We went on a Thursday night, no reservations with a party of 6. We were sat without any wait. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating. They even let us sample a few wines before choosing one. The food was out of this world. Everyone...More

Thank you for sharing your experience. Our staff is passionate about wine, and always want to make sure guests have a bottle they love! I will pass your compliments on to our chef. If you find yourself in Taos again, we'd love to have you...More
Usually the Taos inn does a fabulous job but recently I feel like I’m always waiting a ridiculous amount of time for food and it’s not even that busy. Food is good but prices could be much much better!! Staff is usually friendly and atmosphere...More
My girl friend and I had brunch at this establishment earlier today. Mikaila our server was unfriendly, dishonest and quite frankly didn’t appear to be too happy to be there. When my friend requested a straw for her soft drink, the server replied that there...More

Greetings. I have taken the time to discuss the incident you've shared with our staff and management. It seems as though there was a grave misunderstanding somewhere along the way. Our policy is to not serve drinks with a straw automatically, we do our part...More
We stopped in for a late brunch on a Sunday afternoon. The food was good but the service was very slow. We came in just as the regular brunch crowd was winding down and I think that attributed to the slow service. We will go...More

I apologize if you perceived my response as an insinuation of you lying. I was trying to assess when your disappointment happened, thus I had to walk through both possibilities. Either you were here on the 25th and I had no record of you, or you were here on Saturday the 27th.
Once again, I am sorry if your reservation took an hour, it never should have, but sometimes things happen that are out of our control (large parties arriving late/staying late). Now that you have been here, you have seen the layout, and understand the difficulty of larger parties for us. We do our best to accommodate, but sometimes we get bit.
I was here Saturday the 27th, and dealt with a couple different parties waiting past their time. I don't recall any of the aggravation that you inflected in your writing. I am kicking myself for not recognizing your disappointment while on the table. If I had, I could've made reparations, and at least had a chance at putting a smile on your face. I've been in the business for 24 years, I should have seen your dissatisfaction brewing.
I am truly sorry that now when you think of us, you think negative. This is not who we are or try to be. We have been here for nearly 80 years and served 1000's of guests over the Holiday, because we don't stand on our past. We continuously strive to improve our selves and em-better the experience for our guests.
I know that you really enjoyed the rest of Taos, I hope that when you make it back, you can find another chance for us. If not, I understand.
Thanks for taking the time to write.
