I have known of this tidy tucked away restaurant for years and thru several iterations. The owner took it back a few years ago and applied his magic again. We stopped in yesterday as I had been thinking of their mouthwatering brisket for the last 100 miles. Still the best and with a side of homemade pisole, heaven can wait.... More

Wow! Everything about this restaurant is Great! Excellent Brisket and Cole slaw, Chile rellenos and excellent burgèrs and melt in your mouth desserts, would have had drinks at the bar if not traveling back to Colorado. Wonderful staff and service, atmosphere was perfect too! Definitely will make this my future place to eat when in Taos.

I ate here recently. A friend found a hair in her food. My friend was very quiet and discreet about this. The owner came out and asked my friend to find the hair ( that was then put on the floor) and held it up for our whole table to see, while we were still eating! He then told her... More

I really enjoyed my dinner here. The menu is pretty extensive...lots of New Mexican food, barbecue specialties, burgers, a wide array of side dishes, etc. I started with the trio of dips (salsa, guacamole and queso with chips) which was fresh and delicious. I had the half barbecued chicken with a loaded baked potato and steamed vegetables for my entree... More

The smoked ribs and chicken breast were delicious! The tea and corn on the cob could use more flavor. Will try the potato salad on our next visit. Enjoyed!

My wife and I stopped for lunch today. She had the bbq brisket which was outstanding, and I had the wedge salad with steak. We also had drinks, salsa and chips and the service was excellent! I would highly recommend stopping here for a meal.

October 21, 2016 - The Casa de Valdez restaurant was recommended to us by the Hampton Inn, where we stayed. I have reviewed the hotel in a separate review. The Casa de Valdez is just a short distance from the Hampton Inn, maybe even walking distance but we drove. We were seated immediately. The restaurant was not crowded. After looking... More
