We frequently stay near the plaza when we come into town and have seen this restaurant many times, as well as the great reviews on Trip Advisor. Two things dissuaded us from trying it before: No adult beverages to accompany the meal, and small number of tables (I hate to wait!) Apply design thinking to this visit, we asked: How... More

At first glance it’s easy to pass by this gem. The building is unassuming and there are only about 8 tables. But wow, the service is excellent service and the food is great. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They stopped by at our table several times to make sure everything with our meal was good. We had Shrimp... More

This might probably be the best southwestern food joint in Taos. Affordable & delicious, but they dont serve wine/beer.

We chose this restaurant based on it's consistently excellent reviews and we were not disappointed! We went to several expensive restaurants on our trip to Mexico (still on the trip as I write this) and the food here was as good or better than any of the upscale places.

Driving into Taos I spied a sign in the window saying that gluten free food was available. The food was delicious and the portions were huge. The menu includes breakfast food, sea food, smoothies, Mexican & New Mexican dishes--all very reasonably priced.

On the corner and unpretentious lil gem. Lucky we nabbed parking or front and no wonder why they're busy. It really was simply delicious. Other patrons sitting outside near us on a 55 degree day were all extremely satisfied with their meals. Some thought it wad the best guacamole they ever had (added corn plus green onions ,garlic). I ordered... More

Place is small funky and run down inside. Food is very good. Had the guacamole which is tasty, the salsa had a smokey chipotle spice to it. I had the fish tacos which were simple fried cod but tasty. Others had shrimp enchiladas which were creamy and well liked. Also regular beef and chicken enchiladas Christmas style. They do not... More

This was a tiny hole in the wall restaurant well worth the trip. The staff was friendly, and the food was excellent. The prices were very reasonable, and it is within walking distance to downtown Taos. A diamond in the rough.

Really enjoyed La Cueva. We found it using Trip advisor after we arrived in Taos. Excellent meals. There were three of us and everyone enjoyed everything! The chocolate mole was delicious, As was the trout dish. And the chocolate cake is something we'll be going back for on our next visit to Taos. Worth the wait if there's a line.... More
