Nice selection of small plates (appetizer size) and large plates; many alternatives, with creative desserts. The plates may be easily shared; this I strongly recommend, allowing trying the several alternatives. Good options for vegetarians. No fish dishes. As consistent as the food has been, the superficial, "plastic" and off-putting waiter was annoying, and unable to handle a station that took... More

We went on the advice of fellow travelers using Trip Advisor, and El Meze was just a delight for our 25th anniversary dinner. Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Food was surprising in its creativity, particularly the desserts! Everything was great and the bill was less than I would have expected for this level of quality. We went... More

The menu is small but the food was delicious. The salad, entree and desert were all originalWine selection was good, and the Waiter, Michael is very professional. The Owner is hands on, fully involved and she takes great personal pride in delivering a very satisfying dining experience. I also appreciated her morning coffee suggestion. Staff were all friendly and the... More

We arrived at 5:30 (had reservations as it is a small restaurant.) Thus we were the first ones in the restaurant and were really happy to have Isaac as our waiter as he knew the history of the restaurant and so many other things of interest to you. We had the Roasted Red Pepper with Goat Cheese which we shared... More

Charming little place with good service and delicious food. We had the Roasted poblanos (!!), Chiccarones(!!), buffalo tamale, Frijoles (!!) and donuts in chocolate for dessert. I would definitely come here again. Nice wine selection, too.

This was absolutely an explosion of flavors! Everything was awesome from the appetizer to the dessert! If you go, make sure you order the roasted Poblano appetizer - to die for! Service was great as well.

Delicious and locally fresh appetizers/entrees. Colorful décor and nice atmosphere. Light background music. Romantic but relaxed. The staff was so friendly and helpful. A little chilly to sit outside, but nice patio to view the mountains if in warmer months. We would love to go back!

Wonderful wait staff, they really know the menu. They made great recommendations on food, wine, and dessert. If I you like fish....get the trout. The ice cream dessert with the almond syrup is to die for. Intimate venue.

After little more than a year, I returned to El Meze to share in its delights with a good friend. No one was disappointed! The food was just as excellent this year as it was last year when we visited. This is not only the best restaurant in Taos, but one of the very best in the entire Southwest.

Make a reservation just before sunset, the view of the Mountain is fantastic! For dessert, order their fried whole donut covered in chocolate!
