Our day trip from Santa Fe up to Taos started here. After a beautiful 90-minute drive north, we were famished, and knew this well-regarded café would be our destination. Located a mile or so north of downtown, it's easy to find. We settled in on a quite morning off season. She had the Green Chili Breakfast Bowl and I had... More

I have a pet peeve. I live for breakfast and coffee and yet often find when I go out for breakfast that it is hard to find a refill or warm up or that the coffee is not on par with the food. Nobody let me go without quality hot coffee in my cup here. The breakfast care is unique... More

We've eaten here many times & have had breakfast, brunch and lunch here. It's our go-to breakfast & lunch place in Taos. Gutiz is open 8am-3pm every day except Mondays, the one day they are closed. We are mainly vegetarians that occasionally eat fish, but not other meat, so we are limited to certain items on the menu, and I... More

I had a scramble egg tower and salad for breakfast that was pitch perfect. The menu is a fusion of French and New Mexican food. Having traveled around France and living in New Mexico, I look forward to many more visits.

In New Mexico, it's easy to find cheese-emporiums (restaurants that douse everything they serve with cheese), so when you find a place that doesn't do that, you just have to stand up and cheer! Healthy, delicious, and beautifully prepared (and served), Gutiz is a small spot of goodness on a otherwise cheesy-plain. Just about everything they serve home-made and very... More

We came 5 minutes before closing and they couldn't have been happier to see us. Our meals were delicious, my vegetarian open face sandwich was mouth watering. Now for the show stopper - the pecan pie. Everything at Gutiz is homemade. The pie crust and filling were perfectly balanced, I was so sad that I was sharing it.

How many restaurants bill themselves as Latin French Fusion in New Mexico...well, Gutiz does and offers a refreshing menu of innovative Latin and classic French offerings. Not to be missed is the Taoseño Rice...an interesting medley of Spanish rice, mushrooms, spinach, mixed beans, green peas, red bell pepper, tomatoes, onions, aji panca chile, green chile and potato. Tasty, with a... More

It is a little difficult to find but worth the pursuit. My "drunken chicken" was excellent and huge. My wife's steamed mussels were outstanding and our friend enjoyed her omelet and it looked great. It was relatively quiet even as the place began to fill, a nice plus for conversation, and the service was exemplary.

Their French Toast is exceptional, looks almost too good to eat but don't miss eating this delicious treat. The Tower of Scrambled Eggs is also quite good. Good food, good service in clean, quaint setting.

We stopped here on our way out of town based on a recommendation from Tracy at Black Mesa Winery. This was a great choice for breakfast or lunch. We happened to be there for breakfast and enjoyed the experience. We had the eggs benedict and a brie omelet. Both were perfectly prepared. In addition to breakfast and lunch they have... More
