I'm making a cross country trip and have become so angry/disgusted by dinners/family restaurants charging $10.00 for a simple eggs/toast/home fries breakfast that McDonald's has become -almost exclusively- where I go, in the AM. The El Camino was within sight of my motel so I gave it a try. It was a very pleasant surprise. Got the two egg/toast/home fry... More

Delicious chicken fried steak with cream gravy, mashed potatoes, corn on cob, and house salad. Other family members enjoyed the fried fish, pancakes, and steak. Easy to access along California Street [main street through town]

Food was good. Most like our home cooked items. Had about a dozen items for the seniors. Coffee is wonderful. Prices are good, and NEW manager/owner is always easy to locate. She is in the lounge drinking with the male customers. (This was my only negative, but it could be a big problem-Soon)

El Camino's food is pretty good, albeit not excellent. But the excellent service and the hugely generous portions make for an overall very nice dining experience. And the prices are reasonable as well.

We went here for dinner on a Sunday evening. The waitress forgot our salads we ordered for an appetizer. She also forgot to bring us our drinks and then blamed us since we didn't order our drinks when we sat down (because we are from out of town and don't know what drinks are on the menu...which she hadn't brought... Stopped for dinner. This is the kind of place you would typically go after a night out. The food was just great! I had tacquitos and a tostada salad. The guacamole is AWESOME.. the food was great as well, nice sized portions. If you're in Socorro this is one place to grab some good food.

Stayed at the Econo Lodge next door so received 10% at the El Camino. Nice to be able to walk over after driving all day. Place was quite full ... always a good sign. The fish was OK but the taco salad was excellent! Service was quick.

We were on our way through town and thought we try this place based on the reviews. It was lunchtime, but they serve breakfast 24 hours a day. Thank you!!! The huevos rancheros were excellent, and the french toast breakfast didn't disappoint. The friendly waitresses keep your coffee cup filled, which was very much appreciated. If we are ever coming... This is a wonderful option as a diner - it is open 24-hours a day, and serves traditional New Mexico fare as well as diner standards. It is a tremendous value for the money, the people are marvelous, and the interior decorations are original; very unique experience.

Thank Ellen H
