sent here by the staff at Raton Pass inn where I was told to order the lengua mini tacos......I do not regret it, those were the best tacos I've ever eaten

Don't be confused - this place is attached to a gas station - but that doesn't mean it's not delicious food. A lot of food for the money, and the platters come with awesome beans and rice. I also liked the variety of salsas available.

If you are looking for good, fast Mexican-American food (along the lines of Alibertos, Filibertos, etc.), this is a great stop. The seating area is a bit messy (hence the 4 stars) and cramped, but the food is great, and the service was super friendly. We always try to stop when we're passing through Raton.

We would drive 200 miles out of our way to hit this place on a road trip. It serves fantastic, authentic Mexican food at great prices. And yes, it is located in a gas station convenience store.....and yes the servers are more interested in their phones than serving you.....and it still gets a 5 out of 5 in my book.... More

Coming through Raton my wife was googling places to eat & found Alfonso's. Don't trust google exactly get you there: it is located inside the CONOCO GAS STATION. It's a walk up to order window. I had the rellenos & my wife got enchiladas. I freaked out the order girl when I said I wanted green on my rellenos, how... More

Don't know what other reviewers are talking about. It was dirty. They got the order wrong. The food was disgusting. Couldn't finish it. Anything would have been better. First time I've been misled by Trip Advisor. Beware - don't go!!

The food was good but they didn't have some items on their menu. We had the carne asana. The price was good. We will stop here again.

I was expecting great things after reading previous reviews. I got just what I would have expected had I not read reviews. The food was better than convenience store quality, but the service was lackadaisical at best. Two of four orders were incorrect. Tortillas used in preparing the meal were gigantic, but we're not very good. Most any fast food... More
