Great Burgers!!! My husband had the Green Chilies Burger that was delish! He eventually had to eat it w/ a knife & fork! He made the mistake of setting it down! Just go for it!! I had the quarter pound cheese burger which was great! We'd definitely go back to this little gem in the rough! Clean, friendly & smoke-free... More

We headed up to The Sportsman after touring Wines of the San Juan. It was our first time but the new owner, Adam, was so nice. He talked to us a couple times to make sure the food and service were on point which they were. I had a beer and my husband and I shared a sizable garden salad... More

Had dinner here after fishing the San Juan River, burgers recommended by our fishing guide Crazy Mike. His advice was as solid as his fishing expertise: both of us had the Green Chili Cheeseburger and they did not disappoint. I liked the option of having tater tots instead of batter dipped French fries (just not a fan of them or... More

Thank you for the praise for our burger and Mike! They are both favorites. As far as our hours we are still on off season hours. Being in a recreational area, hours are drastically scaled back during off season. May is when the hours change to open earlier closing later. We hope you'll come see us again! More

We stopped here for an early breakfast on our way to a day of fly fishing on the San Juan River. The hospitality was warm and the food was tasty, with more than ample portions.

Service is friendly and fast, food is filling and fried. I like the country store next door and it was a convenient place to find provisions for the lake.

Eaten here twice on fishing trip once had the burger and one had the chicken fried steak. I liked the burger much better the burger had good and the chicken fried steak tastes like a frozen breaded steak and just tossed in the deep fryer

I fished the San Juan for three days and ate all meals at the Sportsman during my stay. The burgers and breakfast are awesome, roast beef very good and Mexican food serviceable. Service very friendly and the new owners very vested in customer satisfaction, they visited after every meal was served to make sure it was up to par. Will... More

After a day of boating at Navajo Lake we stooped by Sportsman Bar and Grill. It was a bit far from the lake, but it was worth it. We Grabbed a few beers and sodas for the kids. We really didnt order any food, but the service was good and the beer was cold.

At last the Sportsman has recaptured a small measure of its former glory. Having travelled to Navajo Dam for over 20 years I have seen the Sportsman decline from superb local beef burgers, transcendent green chili stew, and pies to make the angels weep. Under a series of misguided, misled or mysterious owners the restaurant became, well, let's say, unpleasant.... More
