We fell into this place on our way to Santa Fe. It has an old mine out back and locally sourced food, including yak. You must go if you like friendly service in a quirky non-touristy atmosphere.

Although this place is known for their meat they made a decent vegie burger. Topped with green chile made it. It's a pretty big place and dark inside but the staff was friendly and the service was good.

We went out to eat for Valentines day and ended up eating at The Mine Shaft Tavern in Madrid. The food was good as was the service. The place was full the whole time that we were there. I had the gumbo which was nice.

We opened the restaurant for lunch and so it wasn't crowded. There are several different hamburgers offered and we each ordered a different type. They were all delicious! Lots of choices for beers, too. We took some photos up on the stage since there was...More
