When in Gallup I always eat here, the food is consistent, good quality with nice sized servings. Additionally, it's usually populated with locals, always a good sign. I like Mexican food spicy and hot, they will accommodate that for you. The wait staff is professional and attentive. Plus the building has a charm all unto itself, with a historic ambiance.... More

If you are ever in Gallup you should plan on having at least one meal at El Rancho. The hotel is an old beautiful hotel that housed many a movie star in it's day, but more importantly you can get a delicious meal at a reasonable price with quick courteous service. And a walk around the hotel and it's gift... More

If you want to stay at a place with a great restaraunt, this is it! Great Mexican fare - with a few options that can be done as vegetarian.

We were seeking the Rt 66 experience and we got it but probably don't need to have it again after this stay. The room was small which isn't a big deal but the bathroom was so small it almost wasn't workable. Warm water took forever to come and we had to let it run for a long time as with... More

We stopped on a whim, mainly as an excuse to get out of the car and walk around for awhile. This place is lots of fun, especially if you're a old movie buff. Lots of autographed photos on the walls from stars that have stayed there in the past. The photos haven't been well cared for, so some of the... More

The signs along I-40 as we traveled home from a trip to Phoenix enticed us to stop at this historical restaurant for lunch. We gingerly parked our car in front, but were encouraged by the many cars already there on a Saturday afternoon. Then we entered the restaurant and were treated beautifully by the very kind and pleasant wait staff.... More

Enjoyed dinner of beef fajitas while staying at the El Rancho Hotel. Service was top notch, food was good but the salsa was a bit too hot for me. That being said, I still ate a bunch of it!

Went there for dinner, servings were large, well presented and tasty. We ended up splitting the dinners as we didn't want to take leftovers back to our room. Waitress was pleasant and had no problem with the shared meals. Pecan pie with ice cream was a tasty dessert.

This wasn't a planned stop during a trip across Route 66, but the signs along the way enticed a quick detour. The sign was cool, but we didn't stick around for the food, choosing instead to venture into Gallup.

Nice ambiance in the hotel in general and pretty good food. The fajitas in particular. Margarita's are usually good and its a fun place to wander around in.
