This is where local folks go, and I certainly understand why. If you are staying in Gallup, this is the local joint to hit for breakfast. I had the breakfast stuffed sopapilla and it was fantastic. Coffee was good too.

Jerry's represents a great example of how a place, a business, can capture the flavor and spirit of a town. The cafe is smallish and looks well- patronized but not worn. It is a place with local pride, Native American, Santa Fe railway and tribute pictures to local servicemen adorn the walls. Service is friendly to tourists and the mostly... More

We thoroughly enjoyed this establishment . Friendly staff, great food, local color. We arrived at 9:30 AM, and although much of the breakfast crowd was gone, it was still quite busy. We had Huevos Rancheros with green sauce , orange juice, coffee and pancakes and bacon. The Huevos Rancheros was 10/10, with poached eggs. When I asked how hot the... More

This place is a good representation of southwestern cuisine. All the dishes are made the New Mexican way. Sometimes jewelry sellers make rounds. Do not underestimate their merchandise. They can be selling hand made valuable stuff.

This is the best Mexican dinner I have ever had. Not only is the food delicious, it is also creative. They go way beyond the standard enchiladas, tacos, etc. The servings are large and inexpensive. Get anything that has green chiles. I had the sopapilla stuffed with carnitas, guacamole, green chiles, and more. Unbelievable. The hamburgers also looked good; maybe... More

Last minute change of plans and Trip Advisor steered us here. It lives up to many of the enthusiastic reviews about home cooking and the place where locals come to eat early, midday and late. We arrived at 3pm and go the only small booth in the room. The menu offered all the typical choices: tacos, tostadas, tortillas and tamales.... More

A wonderful treasure in Gallup. A diner setting with all the charm of being at home. The family of staff made us feel right at home, and the food was so wonderful, that it showed that they love what they serve. We were so impressed with our experience that we drove 160 plus miles out of our way just to... More

We were referred to Genero's but it's closed on Mondays. We went around the corner to Jerry's and we're happy we did. We ordered pork tamales, chicken enchiladas, beef tacos and a small bowl of chili. Everything was delicious and gave you the impression that grandma was in the kitchen cooking her recipes. Service was outstanding. Local artists come through... More

This is a small restaurant off the main thoroughfare. We went for breakfast and were stunned by the prices. Vegetarian omelette was $12.90. The portions were very small even for us. The food we had was tasty, but not enough of it. Vegetarians beware...we found the menu very difficult to adapt to our eating style. Pork meat was in everything.

Thank Kristi K
