It is fun to see and hear the many peacocks and turkeys strutting their stuff outside this small out of the way restaurant. Feels like a step back in time. The food is excellent and freshly homemade. The standard breakfast items taste so good, hard to try anything new. The giant cinnamon rolls are super and the bottomless coffee is... More

We've been there twice for breakfast. I think the food is comparable to other places we've eaten. Wait service could be improved. Tables are kind of tight, I don't sleep that close to my wife as I was sitting next to my neighbor. And their conversation was drowning out every one else's.

My wife and I were driving by and stopped in. The food and atmosphere were simply amazing. We shared a green chile chicken crepe. It was outrageously good. If you love New Mexican cuisine, this is the place to go. Funky decor, even funkier clientele. Great coffee.

Had some mouth-watering food at this local watering hole that's open for breakfast and lunch. I had the huevos rancheros, with a salsa that was out of this world. My friends had veggie wet burritos and cleaned their plates. Service was rapid and friendly. The ambience was casual and cozy. We enjoyed the peacocks we met outside.

Brought a friend who did not know the Cafe. He liked it so much he is coming back with his wife. He had the burrito with green chile.

As somewhat regular customer (several times a year), I was heartened to hear of the new ownership over a year ago. The place seemed to be improving on all fronts after a long slide in service and quality over the years. My last two visits have given me pause to write this review. The owner is simply unpleasant most of... More

We visited here a few years ago and returned again on Dec 23rd AND 24th for breakfast while visiting New Mexico for Christmas. The place is so charming with peacocks, turkeys, dogs and cats roaming outside. The food is great! Feed store burrito with red & green chile!! Love it!!!

This place is wonderful. The staff is very friendly, the food is excellent, and the rustic NM charm is everywhere. Make a reservation as they will reserve a better table for you.

We love a warm New Mexico kitchen for breakfast and San Marcos is about as good as it gets. Huevos Rancheros are super with green, red, or Christmas. (For those of you from other parts that is chili and Christmas is both red and green). Try the house made corned beef hash, the fresh cinnamon roll or just go for... More

I love this quaint and funky cafe/restaurant on the Turquoise trail which is the scenic way from Albuquerque to Santa Fe. It's an old adobe house with turkeys, peacocks and other birds wandering the grounds. The large windows provide great views to the outside. Good food and don't forget to try the cinnamon rolls.
