Loved it. The owners were so kind and advised us on the fresh products they had, I liked the honesty and enjoyed the food. We tried some of there own wine production which was very interesting. The food was great we even bought some cheese to take home with us. We had Kofte, salads, meat, Mousaka. They brought us some complimentary fruits, lovely. I will come back for sure!

Lovely lunch. A very good experience! The food was fresh, properly prepared and a great value for the price. Add to this the fact that the restaurant is located in the castle of Berat and we had a fantastic view. I highly recommend it.

Restaurant Klea is located in Berat, a very beautiful Unesco world heritage site, situated on a hill, with an old fortress and really great views. Klea is a proud family business, serving local food of very high quality. The view from the terrace is really nice. The service is seamless and very very friendly. We ordered a mix of traditional dishes for sharing with the group and we were served really quickly. I strongly recommend! And don't forget to taste the home-made ice cream!!

We had a lovely dinner at the restaurant Klea. We sat in the rose garden and enjoyed traditional home-cooked specialties. The staff was able to identify which menu items were suitable for vegetarians -- and they were delicious. The staff was lovely and helpful. The local wine was good and inexpensive. And we were able to get explanations of everything. Absolutely beautiful setting! (We ate outside so masks were not needed.)

The vegetable soup was unbelievably delicious, made fresh by the owner (300 lek) The stuffed grape leaves were also amazing, packed full of flavour (400 lek). The olive oil was from berat and the best we’ve ever had! You can buy bottles of it from the restaurant for a very reasonable price. The bread was fresh and delicious doused in olive oil and salt. The garden is beautiful with lots of seating with mountain top views, I would recommend coming in the evening to catch the sunset on the walk back down. The restaurant is situated in the berat castle which is a must visit when in berat. The is also indoor seating available. The building has been owned by the family for 3 generations. The waiter was the owners grandson who was so welcoming and accommodating to our dietary needs. He spoke amazing English and had a great understanding of what was and wasn’t vegan on the menu. It was a lovely evening and we will definitely visit again during our stay in Berat as there is much more we would love to try off the menu. Food is very affordable, lovely atmosphere and stunning views, I would 100% recommend if you and vegan or vegetarian and hoping for a change from just chips!

Excellent traditional food, cosy protected terrace, beautiful views, exceptional service by a super friendly family who care about letting visitors discover their home-made local cuisine. We wish we could have stayed in their hotel as well... A must for everybody who enjoys delicious food in a friendly environment! All this in a castle setting, simply amazing.

I ambled up the hill to the Berat Castle to see the historic sites, not realizing how amazing a meal I would have inside the castle walls. This restaurant serves incredible homemade renditions of classic Albanian dishes with the freshest of ingredients. I ended up coming back 2 nights in a row - that's how much I enjoyed it. I was treated so warmly by the host. The qofte were the best I had anywhere in Albania. The moussaka was to die for. The fresh fruit from their orchard was delectable. Even the bread was memorable. Don't miss the raki either. Do not miss this wonderful, well-run, gourmet restaurant. You can't beat the outdoor dining garden on a cool summer evening.

Mandatory stop if you come to Berat. The road to get there will be worth it. Family hotel-restaurant, with few tables and no reservations possible (that is, try to arrive early). You probably have to wait a little, but they let you know and don't make you wait any longer. In our case, they told us half an hour and after fifteen minutes we were already seated. The service, and specifically the waiters, is fantastic. Not only are they friendly and funny, but they try to speak your language, they recommend dishes from the menu based on your preferences, and they are honest with you about how much to order. The cooking, carried out by the mother and grandmother, is traditional and homemade; with self-made oil and incredible desserts. We were left wanting to try the "pies", but they were not left, they are a complete success. Homemade wine of great quality and taste. Not to mention the unbeatable prices, especially in relation to the quality of the products presented. 5 people had dinner, with drinks, water, bread, wine and desserts for 40 euros; and we left totally satisfied. If I return to Albania, it will be a safe stop.

We chose to spend a night in the grounds of the castle of berat to enjoy the atmosphere and the view , we were so lucky to find hotel klea. An incredible place with a homely and welcoming atmosphere. Besides the kindness of Kseno, who was a charming and helpful host, the food was great, especially the homemade qofte and the japrak. We have visited Berat many times but this was a completely different experience, and thankfully as we had come here for a birthday. We enjoyed the wonderful rooms and the delicious homemade food,. We'll be telling everyone that will listen about this place! We will be back for sure!

We visited here for lunch 4 days ago. We had lovely home cooked traditional food and we’re looked after by the couple who run the restaurant and their team. The patio and gardens are pretty and comfortable which made our lunch even better. If you don’t fancy the hike up to the restaurant you can get a taxi almost to the door.

This is a beautiful restaurant inside Berat castle walls. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food was amazing (traditional Albanian food) and while we are eating the kids found a new cat friend.

Ksenofon and his family took it on themselves to treat us to a fabulous Albanian lunch. His mother offered that they serve a bit of everything and so glad that we agreed! Ksenofon Semi Salad with veggies and feta cheese; ricotta with spiced tomato sauce; stuffed peppers; stuffed aubergine; meat balls; pumpkin pie; ice cream washed down with Tirana lager and for the road, Raki! Simply fabulous. And we wiped our plates clean!!

Went here twice, not only because it is near our hotel, the food is excellent. We had the “beans in the oven” both times. Gigandes beans and tomatoes in a casserole, and also tried the grilled veggies salad, perfectly crisp but not soggy and drizzled with balsamic. Also had the pumpkin pie like a spinach pie, but with pumpkin inside. The setting outside in the garden within the castle walls was romantic and the service friendly and helpful

Chosen based on reviews, we were thrilled! Finally a wide selection of typical dishes, all good. Very kind service and available to explain even in Italian. They don't accept reservations, but with a short wait they will accommodate you, on the terrace in front of the entrance (more beautiful) or in the internal courtyard. We took the mustaka, the rolls with vine leaves, the lamb casserole with yoghurt, rice and egg and finally a cream based on yoghurt and peppers to spread on the bread (I don't remember the name), half a liter of white wine, 2 coffees, 2 desserts offered. For a total of €27!!! Absolutely recommended!
